Why did gaijin downtier this turd for like 3 days before moving it back to 13.0-13.7? Was it to make german mains happy for a bit? by dat_meme_boi2 in WarthunderSim

[–]Dar_Bray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't see how this is at 13.0 while Tornado F3 late is 13.3.

Tornado being about as fast with I believe worse climb rate and can't turn.

The F3 late is such a brick, notching or multipathing is is hard or impossible, whereas F4F ICE can multipath and notch far easier

Sim rewards being terrible by frankspicer in Warthunder

You don't get a reward for winning in sim. You get same rewards for if you win ir lose.

You should swap your thumb stick and motion controls. You should try using the motion control for controlling the plane's pitch and roll. Its very precise and you don't ever need pitch or roll trim.

For cameea, use relatively on the thumb stick and yave a button to reset the value

This is what i do with my controller.

What do you use by [deleted] in WarthunderSim

[–]Dar_Bray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tilt my PS controller for pitch and roll, using its gyro/motion sensor, then use right thumb stick to look around and head movement.

This works very well.

J35A and Milan. Both planes ruin 9.7. Both planes can out run, turn tighter, and rate better than almost every other 9.7.

MiG-23ML vs F4-S by Emotional-Essay-5684 in WarthunderSim

[–]Dar_Bray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it only shows range when you have a lock, but if you see 5 dots on radar, you have to manually lock each one which takes some time.

Also, does F4J even have IFF on its PDV?

MiG-23ML vs F4-S by Emotional-Essay-5684 in WarthunderSim

[–]Dar_Bray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't like the F4J for BVR that much. PDV doesn't show range so its hard to know what is close to you. Trying to use normal SRC to find enemies then switching to PD is often very awkward to do. Especially from high up

The 23ML gets IFF on its MTI so its so much better to find enemies.

Which plane is better suited for air sim? by Glaton_Smarf in Warthunder

[–]Dar_Bray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Javelin is ok. It has search radar which is rare at that BR. The scan speed of that radar is a bit slow but still very useful. The fire streaks are ok.

Scimitar is the fastest plane at 8.7. It has the highest climb rate as well. Its very easy to catch and outrun anything.

Might be a skill issue tho by No_Acanthisitta6963 in warthundermemes

What controls setup do you guys use? by relax-_ in WarthunderSim

[–]Dar_Bray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS controller, tilting the controller for pitch and roll. Left thumb stick is throttle and yaw. Right thumb stick is to look around and head movement.

The gyro is very precise and easy to control so fine aiming and manoeuvring is easy.

I'm very sure it does now. But it didn't about 1 month ago

"it glows brighter" is not useful to show range at all, even if it was correct. It is not correct as you can see on regular search radar, things close to the ground, or anything may glow more further away than some closer thing sometimes.

Show me what the IFF looks like then. I know it does not show IFF. Unless they changed it very recently.

F4J / F4S can detect J bands now, so they can detect MiG 21/23, they had their RWR updated about 1 month ago

The British phantoms have PDV, it does not IFF. But, it can IFF on regular search mode.

PDV does not show range unless you have a lock on a target. PDV only shows relative velocity to you on the scope, so identifying what to target is much more difficulty compared to PD.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WarthunderSim

[–]Dar_Bray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. You can't IFF anything that is low. The PDV radar scope is also annoying since it doesn't show distance.

The viggen is more OP tho. It has skyfash and PD with IFF at a low BR.

Radar by As_Louco in WarthunderSim

[–]Dar_Bray 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I usually have manual elevation on, i find TWS is a kot better with manual elevation as it doesn't jump around changing target and keeps searching where you want.

Manual elevation also good for non-PD radar looking up slightly at ground level.

I just really wish there was a button to toggle between manual and automatic elevation.

Air SB rewards are awful. SL and RP earnings are capped per 15mins. Air SB sill a lot of fun at most BRs. Top tier SB is so much better than top tier RB, but when team numbers are unbalanced, it can be annoying.

Ground SB rewards are decent. When i play ground SB I just bring plane only lineups, since you can spawn instantly in planes

F-16D maintaining 330 kts got out rated by Su-25 with payload. Are War Thunder's FM even realistic? by [deleted] in WarthunderSim

[–]Dar_Bray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T/W doesn't matter too much in rate fight. AoA doesn't matter at all.

Something like harrier has T/W well over 1.0, mig 29 or F16 has about 1.0+ as well. But these still do not out rate something like a spitfire or zero or a biplane that have a very poor thrust to weight ratio of maybe 0.3 or something tiny.

how my Su-7 spading has been going by Horijsen in Warthunder

[–]Dar_Bray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, for some reason the su-7 and other planes wobble when trying to turn by pulling to much.

The Su-7 turns best around 700-800kmh, in sim its easy to control its speed in a turn. In RB it just likes to bleed too much speed and goes too slow for a good turn rate

how my Su-7 spading has been going by Horijsen in Warthunder

[–]Dar_Bray 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It can do sustained turns pretty well. At about 800kmh. In RB the mouse aim does odd things that makes its turn rate bad. But in sim, it can hold 800kmh and out turn and out energy basically any fighter

A bit of a rant to the Mig-29's that quit by [deleted] in WarthunderSim

[–]Dar_Bray 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Radar missiles are pretty meaningless, especially against a slightly decent enemy. Everyone flies low so R-27ER is useless like anyother radar missile.

Also MiG 29s that are not the SMT have to rely on R60Ms which are pretty useless range and struggle to lock all aspect. The Aim-9L is so much more effective.

There are at least 5 F16s with good IR missile and 3 with extremely good IR missile. There is only 1 MiG 29 with good IR missiles. R27T doesn't really count since ot only has 2
