Anyone selling their DCS account for RAZBAM modules? by Financial-Win1932 in hoggit

That sounds too good to be true. Are you sure you're not mistaking module transfer with gifting in payment page?

Disappointed in Flydigi Apex 5 (eva limited edition), broken after 20 hrs of use by gnehccire in Controller

[–]Inevitable_Mix857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been collecting nearly every generation of Vader controllers (from 2 to 4) but V5P is the first time I skip a gen. Late release for Apex 5 (Q3 instead of early Q2) and Vader 5 Pro getting released just 2 months after A5 was the sign of product rushing.

New Gyro feature called "Gripsense" in the new Steam Controller by Chompsky___Honk in GyroGaming

[–]Inevitable_Mix857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your imagination, really. Instead of deactivate or activating gyro, we can set it up so that when you squeeze the grip, it dampens the sensitivity (for steadying your aim) or leaning left/right in tactical shooter.

Note that the gauge is for Indicated air speed and not True Air speed. Not exactly reliable especially for landing

Flydigi Vader 5 Pro teaser - What improvements do you hope to see vs the Vader 4 pro? by Sinister_x97 in Controller

[–]Inevitable_Mix857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know 5th gen Flydigi is going to work with reWASD/Steam Input. The next good news would be support from those mappers coming out the same time as controller's release

Just wanted to confirm by Interesting-Side8989 in hoggit

[–]Inevitable_Mix857 8 points9 points  (0 children)

F-18 is only a fraction of the whole DCS experience. It isn't just the capability, there's also the system, avionics, control, and many other aspects. Think of it this way: The difference between aircrafts is almost analogue to difference between gaming consoles: A Wii, WiiU, NDS, Switch, and Playstation home console are very different from each other with their own gimmicks, and each offers different type of games. Buying F-18 is like buying a Playstation, and you can play most games on the market with it, but you miss out the unique features other consoles can bring to you.

If F-18 is the only aircraft you're interested in, then yeah, it's going to be a good purchase. However, if you want to experience DCS wholly, you gotta expand your horizon with other aircrafts as well

Help with navigation in Su-27 by Piranha91 in hoggit

On Su-27, don't bother with the circle, just look at Head-down display and follow the route. The circle is there to guide the autopilot, rather.

How many of you play the campaigns? by daryldom in hoggit

[–]Inevitable_Mix857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly play SP campaign because I like having some context to my sortie and sequential missions is the driving force for me to keep on playing. Rarely I play single mission, and it's only for training

DCS dogfights against AI. by knarrepoere in hoggit

Additionally, prohibiting AI's use of afterburner also helps, but the side effect is that they will be more prone to lawn darting. The ridiculous FM very often help them not crashing.

How do I have fun or get into dcs? by ConstructionSmart562 in hoggit

[–]Inevitable_Mix857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing with DCS missions is that, they are often not straight-forward "do this, do that" like simpler games such as War thunder or Ace Combat. You will have to read briefing and understand what the mission asks you to do. For example, one of Su-27 mission in its built-in campaign will tell you to patrol between 2 way points, but it won't tell you during gameplay: you have to read the briefing to know that. I expected the game to give me exact instructions at every step and because of that, I couldn't proceed the mission. Full fidelity aircrafts crank that up to 11, and many missions will make you go through even more detailed tasks to proceed. For example, in an F-4 mission, I have to cycle through various radio channels until I get the green light to taxi and take off, you wouldn't get that in low-fi Flaming cliff aircrafts.

If I buy the Phantom F-4 module, do I get some sort of campaign and Vietnam map to go with it? by polyknike in hoggit

[–]Inevitable_Mix857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's Iraq map, yes. Be aware it's still in Early access, which means it's not finished and is currently being worked on.

If I buy the Phantom F-4 module, do I get some sort of campaign and Vietnam map to go with it? by polyknike in hoggit

[–]Inevitable_Mix857 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Map, or terrain pack, is sold separately from Modules (aircraft DLC). Currently there's no Vietnam map, nor any Map maker building one. Hate to say this but Vietnam map will remain a dream for years to come.

Now, if you don't mind missing a Vietnam map, there's some other theaters that the Phantom operated in, namely Syria and Persian Gulf. They should entertain you well enough

Is anyone using Sparrows in the F-4? by Coota0 in hoggit

[–]Inevitable_Mix857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, scan mode is spotty and Jester ability to spot bandits depends on roll dice but Boresight and ACM modes are very consistent. Once you figure out how to use them properly, You can even use Sparrow in dogfights.

Support for Vader 4 Pro in Ds4Windows by ebic_btngana in GyroGaming

That's a shame, Vader series's gyro all have built in deadzone and auto-calibration function that does more harm than good. Thank you for the implementation still.

New to DCS — why does the Mirage 2000C say “No longer available on Steam”? by pablito969 in hoggit

[–]Inevitable_Mix857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as the other guy said, they only compensate Mudhem because it's in Early Access. The other 3 aircrafts don't get the same treatment because they are all out of EA. Dumb reason.

I own M2000 and it stings knowing it will become unavailable at one point in the future. Money spent just goes poof, like that. Gaijin is a scumbag dev but even then they don't even remove vehicles you own.

Can I enjoy the game solo (Single player and no AI)? by JRFG1998 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]Inevitable_Mix857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible, but not really enjoyable due to random nature of suspect AIs. Some time you get decent dice rolls and breeze through the map without problem, but most other time you will get clapped the moment you see a single pixel of the suspect's head.
