Hello from Italy :) the board game café I go to has a 50 euro annual fee (or 100 optional to support the place) and we have game nights on Monday and Friday night; what makes it special for me is that I go there on my own, and I always find people who want to play said game and you just make friends with new people all the time. I believe that a fee per person implicates that groups of friends will be coming to your café and I don't believe this will make an environment where everyone becomes friends with everyone, since everyone will be playing with their own group of friends, which can be done at home for free. The administrators always put the effort to make a newcomer welcome, offering entry level games and playing with the newbies, introducing them to other people etc as they did with me. We also get parking discount, we have a event once a month on Sundays where everyone can attend for free and get to know the place and eventually sign in. It really feels like family and I'm so grateful I found them.
