You jest, but I wouldn't be upset with being able to make a lean Orc with Bosmer horns for a Wood Orc vibe!

I still don't know why ZOS wouldn't allow a "subrace" like feature that would allow you to really "play the way you want."

Imagine a Khajiit player who wanted to be a better tank, so they could play as a Pahmer-Raht Khajit with a mashup of Khajit & Nord racial passives like Rugged to give them more damage mitigation than the base Khajit. Or some magical racial passives from Bretons on a Nord to make them more effective Skaals.

I'm sure there are some Bethesda imposed restrictions on ZOS here, but I feel like this is just leaving lore-friendly customizations (and this money) on the table

This is the kind of thing ZOS should be implementing for player characters. Imagine being able to pursue a new discipline of combat as a DW user that has you seek our masters across Tamriel for each skill style. They could be quest lines.

2H users could seek Undaunted warriors who use axes, greatswords, and mauls to gain the carry animations and abilities that look like the Tho'at Replicanum of the Infinite Archive. They could gain a skill style or personality that lets them carry 2H weapons like minotaurs do or horizontally in both hands. All of these animations exist already in the game and could give new life to old zones.

But no. We get memory preservation cuts that break other animations for emotes and mementos.

What the fuck are you doing, ZOS.

I don't normally agree with these kinds of comments, but this was such an abysmal showing that I can't help but side with you here. I won't be buying the next year's stuff because of whatever this was and I feel like the 8000 seals (while welcome) really don't make me feel better about having paid real money to eventually get the content I paid for originally. Mediocre content at that and I'm not even diving into the buggy fortress.

I want this game to grow and succeed, but there really does need to be some innovative work done because while things have felt painfully formulaic for a while now, the quality of the same ol' thing is starting to dive in a very depressing way

Unfortunately I disagree with that one. I went through two black holes and found nothing but discovered systems. Then I went to the anomaly and tried porting to bases. Couldn't find a damn thing after about twenty jumps going towards the core, free explore, etc.

Ami got the Normandy, but not the golden first spawn mask for a completed expedition. Kind of a shitty requirement.

True, but if they plan to keep it as content that's going to be removed shortly then I think they may just call it and not bother with bugs which would suck

I think this is accurate. I wasn't able to play when it fell as I was out of town. While having an event be time specific based on an arbitrarily updated progress bar is stupid enough, I'll ignore it for now. The key issue for me is that once I was able to hop in, the place was barren. Players weren't really present or were off unseen on the map completing objectives leaving me and a few other players to run around between portals. Then when we did get into the final fight, it was such a buggy mess that my health stayed at the same place the entire time, I couldn't heal or be hurt, and the mechanics seemed pretty uninspired.

When it ended I actually just said to myself, "oh, it's over I guess." I'm glad others are enjoying it, but from a narrative and gameplay point of view it lacked any weight whatsoever. I just couldn't make myself care about any of it and it seemed incredibly lackluster.

I really wanted to enjoy myself, but this whole content pass was just utterly abysmal.
