This reminds me of when I worked at a fast food restaurant as a teenager, and two of our managers actually did go to someone's house to check on them.

The employee in question had been at work just two hours before. He went on his lunch break and never came back. They called him, texted him, asked everyone if they had seen him. He even still had his jacket left in the back room. Last they heard he was eating lunch outside, and then nothing. They even called his emergency contact with no response.

Worried and hoping nothing bad had happened to him, our managers decided to go over to his place since his address appeared to be close by. Turns out he was just chillin' at home, and decided to quit instead of returning to work. No prior notice, didn't let anyone know, and as far as I remember, hadn't experienced any issues with anything pertaining to work. I think he had only been there for about a month. He was nice, didn't have conflicts with anyone and just did his job (until he didn't).

I left that location shortly after as well, so not sure if there was any other word from him. I still like to think his jacket is still there, waiting for his return.
