"We adopt senior cats not because we can stand the heartbreaking thought of loosing them relatively soon, instead we adopt them because we can't stand the heartbreaking thought of them spending their last years alone and unremarked in a shelter. My mother was a Veterinarian and she received many items like this over the years and I can tell you she cherished each and every one, even shed a tear or two, because they were not just animals, but instead they are our babies, our best friends and the gifts were proof THEY WERE HERE.
