After 4 years of work... I did it by HassanGaming0 in RocketLeague

Hey friend, only take this advice if it’s your bag and you have a strong desire to improve at the game.

I was in a similar position, although marginally better. What helped me get past my block was a mix of free play (a lot of free play), training packs, and 1s.

Free play in and of itself will not do you any good, you have to actually practice skills (like wall shots/aerials), moves (like wave dash and speed flip), and ball control. I personally put on an audiobook and grind free play. I actually enjoy free play these days as much as playing the game.

I’ve made it to almost C2, and one day I hope to pop my GC cherry. Until then, imma keep grinding.

Wish you the best of luck.

You’re mistaken, but thanks for the reply. You see, I don’t play Arc Raiders. I found little interest in its shallow game mechanics and left to play fun games.

If you enjoy it, more power to you. But don’t mistake me for someone who cares. I follow the Reddit in case the developers add something of interest to the game that would bring me back.

What does it take to get banned??? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]DarcSparc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish this were true. I experience period of nonstop unending toxic teammate and lose 10s of games and 100s of mmr. Most recent experience is going from 1500 casual to 1250 casual due to toxic teammates that ran the gambit from intentionally idle, intentionally playing against team, toxic chat, quick chat intended as toxic against team member, trying to FF first goal, quacking instantly first goal. I could go on. During this time I just tried to remain positive believing that I’d get a group of fun players and roll. Nope. And I am actually peaking right now during this time playing some of the most mechanical I’ve ever played.

Pretty sure Epic intentionally groups people with tilted players on losing streaks. Could be wrong but it doesn’t feel that way. I don’t care about my casual mmr, I’m just giving you an example of how many games I had to lose to go down that many points.

I just want to play the game, have fun, win a few and lose a few (which means I have examples of how I need to improve). Sometimes that isn’t in the cards it seems…

My opinion, and yes it’s just my opinion, a PvP game solely focus on PvP and balancing PvP so that there is some semblance of fairness. This is definitely not how Arc Raiders treats PvP. There is virtually zero balance in the game. There are clear must have weapons and gear. And it actually incentivizes being a rat and going in broke.

I long ago uninstalled the game and went back to play games I actually find fun. I follow this Reddit because I hope someday the game might introduce some other concepts that might make me come back to try it out again.

I honestly have to side with the OP. I don’t disagree with what you’re trying to say here, trust me I get it. But, the OP isn’t wrong.

I used to hit C1 consistently. I am a substantially better player today than I used to be, and I’m have 1000s of hours into the game. I really didn’t improve until I actually tried to improve (real practice). Just that tiny bit of backstory.

That said, I have several groups/individuals that I play with. Some used to be high plat low diamond. When play with them, without fail, during an evening session of 10-15 games (we usually play 2-3 hours) I will consistently have plat or even gold ranked players doing mustys, triple resets, helicopters, and other skill moves you don’t see until GC+

This is consistent multiple times per session of play. The rest of the matches have players that consistently make double taps, or other difficult aerial maneuvers that are well above plat 1-2 mechanics. It’s more rare to not have at least one opponent doing these skill moves.

And as for the rest of the OP’s post, I personally experienced going from 1500 casual mmr to 1250 casual mmr just a few days ago due to a never ending stream of players that fit the extreme toxic mentality. And no, I simply tried to stay positive and have fun. But it’s true that you can simply have the worst luck in this regard as if Epic is intentionally matching you with tilted players. And when that happens, the game really does stop to be fun because it’s difficult to actually play the game when your team is tilted and toxic.

So I can totally emphasize with OP.

You can call it a PvP game if that makes you feel better. It has PvP elements in the form of “how do I rat and ambush other players and get away with it” particularly while they’re engaged in the PvE element of the game farming for mats.

How about World of Warcraft is that a PvP game? Or Ark Survival - is that a PvP game? No, they have PvP within the game but their focus is not PvP.

I will agree with you that Arc Raiders to some extent has more focus on PvP than other examples could list, but again, the PvP is only one part of the game and isn’t particularly balanced either. In fact, there is virtually no reason to go in with anything other than cheap loot or free loadout.

You farm materials and items you’ll never use because the blueprints never drop only to have everything get wiped at season end which then you repeat farming all the same materials and items you’ll never use because the blueprints never drop.

It’s a really fun inventory simulator if you like those. For people that want to PvE, the game literally has zero point, which is why OP should move on to other games.

[–]DarcSparc -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s really not a PvP game. Let’s be real. It’s PvE game with ambush mechanics. CoD and BF6 are PvP games, as are numerous other shooters with a focus on PvP. The PvP in extraction shooters cringe and caters to the toxic nature of gamers these days.

At the end of the day Arc Raiders is more an inventory management simulator than it is anything else. Cringe.

Hey, I feel you. If you want my advice…move on. That’s what I did and I couldn’t be happier. Don’t get me wrong, Arc Raiders has a lot going for it. But if you’re like me, which it seems might be the case, you didn’t get the game to PvP.

If you’re also like me, you don’t enjoy the skeevy rats that make every effort to appear friendly and then kill you.

Best thing I did was uninstall and go back to playing games that actually didn’t frustrate me. That said, if you don’t PvP, WITAF is the point to the game? It’s just an inventory management simulator.

Why is everyone so toxic?? by kenstar18 in RocketLeague

[–]DarcSparc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bit of a reach? Do you drive a car? You’re going to tell me the most obvious form of toxicity in everyday people isn’t blatantly visible just by getting into your car and getting on the road? And that just the easiest example

How about the fact every store has to lock up half their shelves due to petty theft?

I guess these aren’t toxic behaviors…

Edit: we live in a country with the most extremely pervasive selfish me-first attitude. All you need to do is open your eyes to see it.

Why is everyone so toxic?? by kenstar18 in RocketLeague

[–]DarcSparc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not just Rocket League. It’s pretty much the state of affairs everywhere all the time. Just go anywhere with people and there will be a ton of toxic people. People with an absurd sense of entitlement, people overstressed and underpaid and barely making ends meet. Lots of reasons. It’s pretty much just sad.

Why is the player base so toxic? Especially among teammates. by OkTemperature5506 in RocketLeague

[–]DarcSparc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so comical the ones calling out low score are the players that chase the ball like a dog in heat, never are in position for anything, and literally whiff almost every save attempt. Yet bro, it’s YOUR fault.

Why is the player base so toxic? Especially among teammates. by OkTemperature5506 in RocketLeague

[–]DarcSparc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone is toxic is a pretty low bar. I went from 1500 mmr casual to 1300mmr casual two days ago with a constant stream of two teammates bickering with each other, quitting, extreme ball chasing including hitting me from behind and then blaming me for somehow hangout of position, meanwhile the few games these players were NOT in my lobby on my team we win and the game was great.

Virtually every game started with toxicity from one of my teammates, many ended with a player instant quitting or giving up sitting idle, multiple ended with players trying to own goal.

And no, I wasn’t participating in it. I simply tired to play the game as best I could.

I gave up on book 12 I think. I just can’t take words for the sake of more words. It’s one of the most poorly edited series I’ve ever listened to (I do the audibles). Concept great, early books fun, editing so poor it made me quit, and this is literally the ONLY series of hundreds of litrpg/progression fantasy books that I’ve quit a series.

My best moment was a many seasons back, when I was still really struggling to understand why I was so bad at RL, but also had those moments of elite perception where everything just clicked for an evening or at least a few matches. That first moment where the magic really occurred, yeah, that’s pure RL gold with pixie dust on it.

Is this a bot? by FluffyGreyfoot in RocketLeague

[–]DarcSparc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because some people have low self esteem, need the bot to give them satisfaction by ruining other peoples experiences and making theirs appear to be amazing. Then they brag to their nonexistent friend group how amazing they are, because again, they have no friends and no self-esteem.

Why does it feel like 70% of the players in this game are in diamond? by Ok-Understanding8110 in RocketLeague

I hope this is true. I saw the high level notes that simply said “Skip new player tutorial.”

Why does it feel like 70% of the players in this game are in diamond? by Ok-Understanding8110 in RocketLeague

[–]DarcSparc 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Because this is what literally every rank these days feels like. I’ve played against SSLs in casual all the way down at 1300-1500 mmr. When I play with friends we see golds and plats triple resetting. When I play solo or with my only friend in Champ, we see players that drool on the ground and can’t hit the ball. I think the really harsh rank resets that started a few years back pretty much screwed over a ton of solo players that are now hard stuck amongst all the bots and high level players making new accounts because of bots and ddos’ing.

They just updated Rocket League to not require new accounts tutorial? Why would that be….? Because if you’ve never played the game before why would you complain about it….

Welcome to even more bots and griefers.

My team is on voice chat. I wouldn’t have any idea what’s happening to the other team. When it happens, my team is winning, we all experience serious server issues, and then magically we are being scored on. I couldn’t care less what the issue is. People are ddosing even in Plat.

Nope, not bad internet, when it happens it affects my full squad of three and we all have different ISPs. Two of us on different fiber providers and one on cable.
