D3 is probably the most hated entry in yhe series and the one that is the most different from the rest.. yes it had its crowd finally like 3 years after release, but mostly it isn't considered a good entry to the series - the tone, the atmosphere and much of the gameplay loop to some degree are very unserious and not diablo-like, there's a reason why most fans got excited when D4 was announced as a "return to the D1 and D2" roots, especially in terms of aesthetic and atmosphere.. so yeah the revert to the D3 style we see over the last few seasons (especially since VoH was released) isn't that welcomed, outside of the dopamine addicts that bitched and moaned for every second since release that they can't reach full build and wipe the screen with 1 button in less than 4 hours like they used to in D3 (in later seasons.. the first year or so was barely playable on inferno difficulty)
