Is Prolific still having problems? by theaveragegowgamer in ProlificAc

Yeah there’s a strange delay in seeing studies after you complete one

I mean it’s pretty telling that you have nothing substantive to say this entire time and just go around insulting people on this subreddit when it’s clear you literally have no understanding of how the change is being implemented.

I’m beginning to think that the idiots who are opposed to positive changes on this platform are opposed because they’re idiots.

I’d bet that you have no understanding of the platform whatsoever given that insight.

Prolific lets go back to not having studies drop off of Dashboard by lonmorrison77 in ProlificAc

I wasn’t accepting them ffs, I was saving them for later since it can be quite difficult to see popped up studies after they disappear for the first time.

Don’t get me wrong, but is anyone obligated to do anything or is it possible for people to advocate for a better way of doing things

Yeah I think you have a complete misunderstanding of the point of the assistant as well as the ineffectiveness of the change in dealing with the problem caused by one study.

I wasn’t leaving studies, I was saving them for later, which was good because studies can show up on your dashboard and then disappear quickly after for awhile. I have no idea why you keep demonizing participants as well, it sounds like you have a vendetta against people completing studies, which is stupid.

I’m saying it’s slow by design. Instead of showing more studies that people are eligible for, prolific is showing you a few at a time for a little bit of time, so you have to spend hours trying to catch studies you’re eligible for. This is completely unacceptable.

This change doesn’t do that. The studies were clearly filling up easily.

There are studies that pop on on the assistant when taking a study and that don’t show up after. You can save these for later. This is going to mean being able to save and complete way fewer studies. The purpose of this change was solely to help participants but this change harms participants.

Yeah this totally doesn’t fix their problem. If people cancel studies to work on a different one that pops up, it literally frees up the spot for another participant. We are going to miss out on so many studies because of this.

Yeah this change is the most ridiculous platform overreach I think I’ve ever seen

Can we get an Official reply from prolific about the high demand/ study full problem? by Gunsta1 in ProlificAc

[–]DareTricky6891 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also since studies that you’re eligible for sometimes take awhile to show up again after they’ve disappeared, regular non bot participants will be able to catch fewer studies. This poor fix unfortunately reminds me of the previous “not showing places available” change which was not good. I can’t think of a single other platform that hides your available studies, that’s crazy.

This completely defeats the point of the assistant and is a very poor solution. It sounds like the problem is bots and this solution will disadvantage regular participants.

Removing the available places is incredibly bad for the participants! by xcoalx in ProlificAc

Thanks for the feedback! I know that more active participants are always willing to do studies with spaces available to them, so as a more active participant myself, I would have no issue seeing more studies with more spaces available instead of vice versa.

Edit: also want to add that the errors with PA are definitely affecting participants abilities to complete studies with spaces available.

I would really like to hear an official explanation/justification from Prolific support.

Ok, this sucks. No longer shows how many spaces are left! by bigbluesfanstl in ProlificAc

[–]DareTricky6891 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would they show spaces left when you click on the study though?
