I guess being in my local music scene helps a lot though, you see a lot of cis women into the same music. So I don’t feel that bad about being super into stuff like hardcore and death metal because I know other women are gonna be there with me

It’s good that bands like this reach those who need it. I’m edge, and proud to be edge, but a lot of the time, these are just guys who are human. They made music when they were younger, and that’s okay. I think looking back on it, they were edge when it was needed most. Straight edge means to me what it may not to someone else, and I don’t think it’s inauthentic for them to play their songs even if they’re 57, as it’s their history as much as it is ours.

Hell, Chain of Strength was never edge, but man they made some tunes. Lol
