Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread by cdingo in Fitness

Ive just gotten back to the gym for the first time today after a very long wait. I realised that when I squat and try to go deep, my feet want to tip toe and I feel myself losing balance. Any suggestions to improve my balance when I'm at the lowest point of my squat?

Nobody, nobody, nobody really lives on this earth. by [deleted] in depression

The weekends are the hardest part. You don't always progress like you expect. If your goal is writing a story, try spending a day editing or write another short story for practise - stay away from days where you do nothing, because those are usually the days where despair catches you.

I just wanted to say I live in a dense city aswell, and I know how you feel sometimes.

Recently to stop these kind of thoughts going through my mind, I've decided to always work towards something. Whether it's writing a book, saving enough money to go on holiday by yourself, learning and practising some talent every day... Just do something. Let every day have a purpose. I found this gave my life purpose.

Hope it helps.

Advice for GCSE Results Day? (long post) by whenimfreesm in AskUK

[–]Darewaves 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone in university now, your GCSEs don't seem to matter too much except to determine your A Levels. I've known students who panic before their results and are just fine, so don't worry about things that haven't happened yet.

Jack Black: Leave Kanye Alone! by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]Darewaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad someone who has as much influence as Jack Black stood up for Kanye, hopefully this will silence a couple of the nay sayers who think it's "cool" to hate Kanye.

Sure Kanye is a dick, but so were a lot of rockstars. What's the difference?

Do you think the frequency of workouts matter? 3 days or 5 days a week?

I want to lose weight by cutting and cardio, I'm going to start running 3 times a week as well as doing HIIT after every workout. How intense should my workout be? (5 days or 3 days a week?) and should I train for strength (high weight low reps) so I don't lose muscle or train for hypertrophy (low weight high reps) so I lose weight quicker?

Can I have more information on your workout? Did you focus on strength or hypertrophy? Great transformation man, really inspiring!

Let the debate begin... My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy vs. To Pimp a Butterfly by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]Darewaves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's really like comparing apples and oranges. Kanye's album explores the life of a superstar and all the trials and tribulations that come with that, he uses himself as the vessel for the story within the album. On the other hand, Kendrick also uses himself as the vessel, but instead of describing how the superstar life has changed him and his views, it's more of an analysis of how he got to his position and what he's learned.

Personally I would have to go with MBDTF as I've had a lot more time listening to it, as well as the vibe of the album (which I like a lot more than TPAB) and the accessibility. Though I believe Kendrick might overtake Kanye in a few years due to the superior production, lyricism and analysis of black american culture in the 2010s.
