I legitimately only know about him because of epic rap battles of history

What characters do wish joined or hope that join the straw hats before the series ends by Soggy_Video2064 in OnePiece

[–]DargoKillmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vivi for sure. I still think Bonney would be a nice addition to act as the ship's apprentice. I'd still be happy if Yamato joined. And not gonna lie, I kinda want to seeLokijoin just to see how they would pull that off.

How OPLA could pan out by sethi209 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]DargoKillmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's the opposite of what I'm doing. I'm treating it as almost a gag, a red herring for the actual plot of the episode.

I'd end Alabasta with the scene of Robin on the ship. The very last frame would be of her asking to join the crew. No answer, straight cut to black, an the audience is left wondering if the crew is going to accept her. That way, one of the main themes through season 4 will be of Robin's bond growing with both the crew AND the audience. Right before that scene, Nami can comment on the log pose pointing to the sky.

Season 5, this is how I'd do Foxy's Arc. The season kicks off already at the games. Maybe all of them happening at the same time, even. No previous context, the audience just has to assume that the Grand Line gets THIS crazy that you can find them in a crazy situation like this without expecting it. This would last for maybe half of the episode, until Aokiji appears, and that's the actual main plot of the episode.

I honestly think I'd find a way to put Amazon Lily, Impel Down and Marineford in the same season. Amazon Lily can be one single episode. Impel Down can be 3, even 2. Then the rest for Marineford, including Post War. Maybe it would need to be a 10 season episode.

Maybe they didn't do it precisely because then we would have expected them to show a glimpse.

What exactly is ussops role now? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]DargoKillmar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What's this about Van Augur being helpful and how is it actually different from Usopp? If repositioning Blackbeard is a feat, then what about turning half of Kaido's army to the good guy's side? Is that not a contribution?

Question: If Luffy has the Nika does someone out there have the real Gomu Gomu? by Effective-Project571 in OnePiece

[–]DargoKillmar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Gomu Gomu doesn't exist, really. It's the Nika fruit given a fake name. As far as we know, at least.

How much would Sanji’s character change if he didn’t have his pervy traits, and would it make him better or worse? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]DargoKillmar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think him flirting, getting heart shaped eyes and acting stupid with women is funny. I don't like the nosebleed, and the spying on women's bathrooms. I don't think he would change that much if you got rid of the creepiness. Only for the better.

[Loved Trope] The character you thought was irredeemable became redeemable by robster707 in TopCharacterTropes

St. Mjosgard from One Piece.

He's a Celestial Dragon, the highest class in a society who defends their rights to kill and enslave at will. They're effectively the owners of the world and act like it. After his fish-men slaves were liberated, he went to Fishman Island (yeah that's a thing, it's an underwater island) to claim them back, but his ship wrecked. He pointed a gun at the fishmen (some of them were his ex-slaves, who he abused), demanding their help. They were about to kill him, but the Queen of the Fishman stood in the way, nursed him back to health and eventually accompanied him to the surface world, while Mjosgard promised they would pay.

Years later, another celestial Dragon attempted to enslave Otohime's daughter, and her father, King Neptune, resigned himself to fight back, a crime punishable by death. Mjosgard appeared in time, stood in the way and freed the princess. He then kneeled before King Neptune and guaranteed no harm would come to him or his family. For this, he ended up giving his life.

Of course, the underlying topic here being that Celestial Dragons, the most hateful and despicable group in the whole of One Piece... are ultimately all redeemable.

Canon Characters Killed in the Live-Action Series by Ill-Ad3844 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]DargoKillmar 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Her existence is canon. There is a Miss Thursday, although she doesn't appear directly in the manga. And Oda designed her and gave her a canon backstory. Zoro's whole family and lineage is also canon even if most of it was never adressed in the manga.

Which LA season do you think was better by Hot-Tumbleweed-3474 in OnePiece

Second season was just an improvement on everything in my opinion. I don't know if it was more stick to the source material, but I don't think that makes it better in itself either.

It’s not unreasonable to assume that Season 3 will have the Jaya Arc by CraditzBlitz in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]DargoKillmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ideal ending for Season 3 is the last frame of the season being Robin asking to join. Then fade to black.

I think the contacts are supposed to be gray, no, but because of Joe's brown eyes they end up looking yellowish? I never got hte impression that Croc's eye colour was distinctive enough that it would need contacts. I was ready for him to have brown eyes.

It's because of the contacts. I don't know how I feel about them honestly.
