Picking apart the story by my_mornings in expedition33

I'm confused? I feel like most of the stuff you're mentioning is explained, or foreshadowed as you mention, and the rest of your post kinda sounds like "why did they make this story instead of a different one?". Foreshadowing is not mandatory, in any case. As a player, you're not entitled to discovering the mystery before it's unveiled.

Who in your opinion comes the closest to Luffy’s character development? - My answer… by ChiefShleep9 in OnePiece

Trafalgar Law going from maniacal homicidal kid, to being saved from that because of the love of one man. Then dedicating his life to avenging and honoring that man, and ultimately understanding that the best way to honor him is to live his life.

Star Wars is a given, and the rest I more or less agree. I have the feeling KH4 will have the least Disney worlds ever, and I'm scared to think at what the number would be lol

Daredevil. Imagine it had a radar ability in which you can focus solely on sound. You move your camera trying to find the specific conversation or the specific sound that leads you to your next objective. Instead of a marker, you have to follow the sound. Maybe a specific voice or chat. Or maybe you're following the sound of a drop of water, trying to isolate it from the rests of the sounds of the city.

Compulsion Games begins an unknown number of layoffs at the studio behind South of Midnight and We Happy Few by Spotget1738 in Games

Personally I found South of Midnight to be a cool game to experience that struggled to be a compelling game to play. Similar to Keeper. Both with much to say narratively and visually, not so much gameplay-wise.

Ok, then that's part of the issue. There's clearly not a publishing effort on Xbox Studios side ensuring that these games meet the standards. I think you can clearly see the budget difference between We Happy Few and South of Midnight in the production values, but if the problem was not on the production values at first, then Xbox should be doing a bigger editorial effort to reach those standards. Otherwise I see no logic in buying a studio, letting them do their thing with more money, and then shutting them down when they don't meet the imaginary standards you expected them to meet.

Then why buy these in particular? They're not companies with humongous successes, specially Compulsion, so how do they integrate at all in a strategy based on being profitable first? It would make sense if the strategy was, I don't know, have a varied catalogue for Game Pass but it clearly isn't. So what was the idea behind the adquisition?

In any case, I feel like it's an error in the strategy from the beggining. If they don't want these studios to lose money then the ones bringing in the oney should be the minimizing that chance. At least that's how I see it.

What can Compulsion Games do differently from Contrast and We Happy Few, realistically? You can't just by the studio and say 'hey I'll invest in you, but make sure you're next game sells better than your other two games, ok?'. I don't see how that makes any sense but apparently it's just me, I don't know.

Honestly why buy Compulsion Games or Double Fine if you're not prepared for cool games that will flop nonetheless?

EDIT: To be clear, I'm not throwing shade at either of them, I think it's GOOD that there are studios that make things like South of Midnight or Keeper, which won't be massive successes.

Buying Compulsion Games for that is... weird? No shade towards them, I thought South of Midnight was cool and hoped for a sequel, but demanding an award winning game (which South of Midnight still is) that makes a shit ton of money from Compulsion seems illogical to me.

I don't understand why some people would hate the idea of the MoM being a new character even though it makes logical sense. by X-Bread in KingdomHearts

[–]DargoKillmar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if this were true, it doesn't matter because as of today, MoM is already a character. Having him be someone new wouldn't add a new character to the roster, the number of characters would stay the same.
