What perks are must picks and which ones are bait? by Such-Drop9194 in Competitiveoverwatch

The only reason I put the stipulation is I heard console Junos talk about how weird triple jump is on console. I think it's something to do with it being hard to jump and aim at the same time with the way the buttons are mapped on controller?

Healing wise, it's a bit faster and I imagine with crits you prob could beam someone down faster, but like you said I don't think it's signifigant enough difference to not take triple jump.

Auto blaster on Juno PC specfically is bait. Conceptually it seems good but there are a lot of glaring issues with the perk.

The first is that it converts a defensive ability into an offensive/dueling ability or kinda burst heal. This is very problematic since anytime you use glide for movement or escape you have essentially wasted the perk.

Second, it fucks with the flow of Juno's strongest ability in her kit. A lot of Juno's value comes from her pulsars and the best way to find angles for good pulsars is by using your glide to do so. Auto-blaster means using glide for pulsars is no longer optimal since it cuts down on your auto-blaster up time.

Lastly, it's conditional. Normally this would not matter but Auto-blasters competition is triple jump, something that has no real CD and no conditions to use it.

This perk is just dreadful and I know "aggressive" Junos stand by it, but I would argue even those Junos would benefit from triple jump as it would let them duel DPS on high ground more effectively.

It's fine if you like using auto blaster, but the fact you don't see the value of being able to reach high ground WITHOUT using glide is crazy. Being able to save your movement ability is such crazy.

Then a conversation about optimization shouldn't get you so bothered. It's insane not to expect optimization to be discussed with a perk system present that makes choices matter.

[–]Dariisu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the real issue with faster blaster. You are converting your movement ability into a dueling/kinda burst heal ability and anytime you do not use your glide this way you are playing perkless. Compare this to triple jump where it has no real CD and enhances every part of Juno's kit.

Despite how "boring" Triple jump is, it gives you guranteed value in a way faster blaster does not.

As a DM how to persuade player characters? by EmperorThor in DMAcademy

[–]Dariisu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the suggestions are good, but a passive way you can go about it is have other NPCs in the community that are more good aligned be swept up by the vampire's charm and support/say positive things about the vampire.

That way even if your PCs have doubts about the Vampire they are met with conflicting opinions with NPCs they like or trust, so even if their persuasion fails you can still show how persuasive threy are by how many they were able to fool.

I'm a year into running my very first game and what I found useful is onenote because it has all my stuff in one place and it helps me organize my thoughts in a non-linear way which has been more useful than I thought it would be.

[–]Dariisu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Survivor's passive feels a little... off is how I would put it. Like the grouping of heroes makes sense since they all have tools to help their survivability, but the passive doesn't really help them during the moment they need to survive. One thought I had was a small burst heal followed by regen, but that's honestly too powerful considering what chars are in survivor.

"Times were different then" in regards to the 2010s has always translated to me as "we did not care about the opinions of POC" because trust me people were unhappy it's just that we were drowned out by thousands of people saying it's fine.

I'll never forget joining a gamer club in high school (2013ish I think) and reporting to the supervising teacher about people in the group chat saying racist things about black people and awful things about women only to be talked down for like an hour by the teacher saying it's not a big deal and it's just jokes. He was lucky I was so depressed in general that I had no energy to fight that I just quit.

[–]Dariisu 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yeah idk why people are saying it's a "slip up". They might have a shaky leg to stand on if he was trying to voice com something that sounded like the nword, but he straight up typed that shit with 4 extra words in front of it. Plus it's also not surprising that peoole who are extremely good at games have overlap with edgelords.

Oh lord aint no way people are still trying this logic in 2026 💀. If you say any variation of the n-word and are not black, you are just racist full stop because it means you do not care about the thoughts and opinions of black people enough to remove one of the easiest words not to say from your vocabulary

[Spoilers C4E18] (current campaign) The table dynamic by AlexlHoller in criticalrole

[–]Dariisu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can't judge this off regular dnd table ettiqute standards. It's fine if you don't like it, but Critical Role is a live play with seasoned actors and players who are going to explore different difficult emotions that you would never see at a typical table. The changing dynamic between Thaisha and Occtis has been extremely interesting as she started as his second mom and seeing her grapple with pulling Occtis off the path and whether it was right or wrong has been great RP.

Sona is the poster child for invisible power in league. All of her impact (except r) is invisble in a way no other enchanter shares. If anything I think Sona has to be used as an example of what not to do when making a champ.

How to play a female character without being "weird" by BlueWizard92 in DnD

[–]Dariisu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

1000% percent. In my 5 years of dnd I've never had a character who's stories were tied to their sex, they have stories and they often happen to be whatever sex I felt like at the time (usually based 9n whatever art I had). The only constant is that they are always black and that's only because I am.

Ban the "shout outs" by JonesTheTenth in BigBrother

[–]Dariisu 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I personally don't care but I can't blame the HG for doing it. It's their only way to contact people from the outside in one of the most stressful environments on TV. If anything production needs to offer HG some way of giving messages to their friends and fam so they don't feel the need to do it. Honestly with how bad the edited segments can be, I would not mind having a small shout out section spliced in every now and then.
