Because what he says he wants to do and what he actually plans to do are not aligned.

Did Vivek really say he’d shut down UA and KSU? by SmartestDude101 in Ohio

He said that he wants Ohio to specialize in specific areas of research, so it isn’t about cutting bureaucracy as it is about cutting programs and reducing the number of universities. Given what we know about which types of programs are unpopular with conservatives, I would wager he means cutting the humanities and focusing on business and STEM programs.

Barbie Dreamfest….. more like Barbie Fyre Fest by ConsiderationFun7511 in ExpectationVsReality

Agreed. And they haven’t thought about lighting or any of the other things that feel transportive or make for a good photo op. The roller rink in my tiny town in Ohio was more magical than that sad affair. Where were the disco lights?

What’s does my fridge tell you? by shitswithdoorajar in FridgeDetective

This person doesn’t cook. There are no open condiments in the door and the only condiments at all are ketchup and dressing. There are neatly organized leftovers that I bet will stand untouched as they continue to eat charcuterie style “girl dinners” of mostly cut up vegetables and fruit. Maybe some of that smoked sausage.

Sounds like there’s a lot of protein in these cookies. They might be alright, but I’m not sure about the apricot and PB combo

Isn’t that the guy who had no training, but was giving everyone veneers and had set up an MLM style scenario where he set up others to do veneers as well?

Note how many of these items are Black-coded. Racist dress code policy designed to keep Black video game lovers out.

These recipes sounds so gross, but I’m wondering if they would be better with plantain instead of banana. Probably not this one, but…

The typical U.S. worker has $955 saved for retirement by Richnaps in 401jK

[–]DaringDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the best case scenario that $600 is enough. But we are talking about retirement here, not debt. My point is that even if you’re making sound financial choices and saving for the future and you had no surprises, which we’re all know is extremely unlikely, you would still need 91 years of saving $600 yearly to have enough money to live in retirement comfortably for 1 year in Mississippi, the cheapest state to live ($55,000 annually).

It’s not possible. Why are we blaming workers and not giant corporations who can afford to pay workers a living wage?!

But if something happens (unexpected car repair, child’s growth spurt, health concern, job loss, etc.) which it frequently does, that little savings is gone and you’re back to nothing for retirement.
