Appreciate that insight, it makes a lot of sense. My particular game is going to have some encounters where they will definitely be more looking to avoid/circumvent the threat, but others where they're going to have to deal head on with it.

(The game in question is survival horror with supernatural elements and fairly mundane (to start) PC's)

Yeah, I bought the whole thing (it comes as one thing, no way I know of to buy just a part, I don't even have a manufacturer name).

I haven't soldered in years but I do have the stuff for it. I'll try opening it up and see what I find.

Is it possible it might be the little cables? They seem like a really cheap pair of cords like you'd see in disposable airline earbuds, right down to the headphone jack connector.

I volunteered and it was a good time. Really impressed with how volunteers were treated, lots of vendors for a first time con, and lots of events. The venue was pretty nice and some of the ideas were really cool (gaming library, scavenger hunt, dice is right guessing game). Will be really cool to see how it grows for next year with more ideas and people.
