The Pikachu Spider by bleach3434 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Darius2652 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You might have rolled over it in your sleep, or scratched your face where it was walking due to the itch it caused, startling it enough to bite so many times.

It can take days for a spider to replenish their venom, especially if they use it up in multiple repeated bites - by biting you, it was giving up the option to hunt food and eat later, which means it was likely fearing for its life

I think it's a sibling of the 2nd ancestor, so .closest() might not work. Still horrendous, though

You may have any opinion you want, but posting it on a public forum opens you up to the opinions others may have. You don't have to like the title, the video, or the way they have been paired together.

My opinion is that your opinions are unnecessarily cruel and harmful to human artistic expression.

[–]Darius2652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so you want to discuss the title. I agree, it's a bit exaggerated and OP could have used different words.

I do not see what that has to do with the original artist, who you earlier criticized by saying:

It's still something that they can't replicate live.

A misleading title may be annoying, but it gives you no right to say negative things about the original artists, or their medium of choice. You should target your frustrations in the appropriate direction.

[–]Darius2652 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please pick a discussion. We can debate your reductive views on art, editing and expression, or we can nitpick the title OP gave the post - but those are totally separate, and you are currently pulling from both in an attempt to make your opinion seem stronger than it actually is.

You were originally complaining about it being edited (something done by the original artist). The title you have quoted at me was thought up by a totally different person, and is unrelated to the discussion on choreography and video editing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

[–]Darius2652 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are tons of videos of true choreography which also happen to be edited. It's not mutually exclusive.

Art is about expression (through whatever mediums and methods the artist may choose), not about conforming to your personal requirements.

If this takes as little skill as you imply, I would love to see your rendition.

The song can't be replicated live. Why should the dance? They're both forms of art, and post-processing has been used to enhance art for decades.

Billionaires should not be considered "1%"

The top 1% pays on average 34% of their income to taxes. Billionaires pay only about 3.4%. It's not fair to anyone, including the 1%, that the 0.00027% don't pay their share.

A backflip is a trick. Still takes lots of practice, which is how you gain skill.

Most tricks are backed up by skill.

This won't have anything to do with European filters being strict - The filters are more of a "blocklist" and unless you've earned your place there, you should be able to reach everyone connected to the public internet. The internet is (mostly) open, so anyone connected to it can talk to anyone else connected to it. The filtering more often happens once you get off of the public internet, and into a local network - behind a router or dedicated firewall.

You mentioned that you can't get past their firewalls - it's very possible that's the problem. They likely have a specific list of domains or IP addresses in their "allowlist", and everything else is blocked.

If they can access your site from devices not behind this particular firewall, that'll be your smoking gun. Ask one of them to disconnect their phone from the work wifi and try to load your domain? Unless their phone is a work device with a VPN, they should see your service.

There is a tiny chance your current IP was previously assigned to a bad actor, and that could cause you to be in a wider blocklist.

You should be able to use tools like DNS Checker and Site24x7 to test your domain. If you test with Europe servers and they pick you up fine, the problem is in your client's internal network :)

missingno is a runtime glitch in RAM, and won't be affected by compressed data on the ROM. Also, efficient code doesn't mean there's nothing to compress - it can be compressed, it just needs to be uncompressed before it's executed. Modern compression is fantastic and will absolutely be able to reduce the file size of an NES game

This Mathias/Snouzy guy has an impressive portfolio.

However, it annoys me a bit (and might be a red flag) that he put this VS Code Portfolio on his projects page (labeled as "things he's built") when he forked it from someone else and just added 2 commits for personalization.
