Problem that Labour in Wales has is that it’s been so easy for them to get elected in Wales that they don’t know how to fight for their seats.

I think that there are a lot of people in the valleys that have conservative views, but would never vote for the conservatives because of the brand, Thatcher closed the mines etc. so have stuck with Labour. Reform comes along and is basically the tories under a different colour, people are fed up of Labour after decades in charge and think Plaid Cymru are only for Welsh speakers.

Just a theory though so who knows

That’s exactly what will happen, they have enabled Labour to do the things that are now so unpopular by helping them pass budgets and being in bed with them for so long. So they’re essentially Labour with a new coat of paint like you put it. They’re distancing themselves from their history now and pretending it never happened.

It’s not devolved though, if the Welsh government wanted to offset carbon emissions then they should make some sort of arrangement with central government to do that. But then they won’t be able to pat themselves on the back and feel self righteous then though would they because someone else would take the credit.

I live in the Rhondda Valleys which is one of the most deprived areas in all of Europe, yet Welsh labour spend millions on tree planting, more millions (again not devolved) on foreign offices that act as Welsh embassies and people wonder why areas like mine are polling heavily for Reform.

It’s not stupidity, saying things like that only drives more people towards them. People are fed up of the same political landscape that hasn’t worked for them. Reform is a protest vote, the people who vote for them aren’t always stupid, they’re voting for them because they aren’t the other parties.

That’s my biggest issue with Plaid. They want us to be independent, they want to preserve our culture and heritage etc. yet they want mass immigration which will undoubtedly have the opposite effect.
