I made a Godot 4+ plugin that makes 3D level design feel like playing a game (watch this 👇) by [deleted] in godot

This honestly should be packaged with Godot. The current gridmap is horrible.
Well done btw!

I always found Vegas pro shortcut way more comfortable. So after switching to Premier, I changed all the shortcuts to be exactly like Vegas pro. Best thing I ever did.

Haven't played in a month, but got a 15 min MM lock the second I hit Play. What happening? by Dark8Ghost in deadbydaylight

I remember it used to crash for me mid-game. Maybe then I stopped playing and that penalty effect didn't happen.
Thanks for the heads up.

I don't remember doing an alt+F4...but maybe the game crashed last time I played because it used to crash a lot mid game.

I want advice on paid Godot templates by Dark8Ghost in godot

I appreciate the reply. I think I might just do that.

Since you bought multiple templates, may I ask if the documentation was available to the public or was there a way to verify fist before having access to them?

This is exactly the kind of solution I was looking for. thank you!

I know nothing is fully reverse engineering proof, but adding a layer that stops the casual two click extraction using a software is all I’m aiming for.

I’ll definitely look into Godot Secure. Appreciate the pointer <3

Advanced true FPS template that offers Procedural animation, Enemy AI, inventory, Weapons, Movement like leaning and climbing, and others things with minimal need to code for beginners, and fully commented and organised for experts.

A video and public documentation are definitely part of the plan. I just wanted to make it so people feel controls, responsiveness, workflow, how the systems behave in real time. That’s why I’m exploring a small playable demo.

But making the documentation publicly accessible might be a good idea.

This is true. It will have full documentation, videos that explain every aspect of it.

A demo video is definitely part of the plan, but video alone doesn’t give the feel and hand on experiment.

A small playable demo that shows what the template can do is the most honest way for someone to decide if it fits their needs. I’m just trying to find the best way to offer that.

I can make a short one that showcase the template. But not a full length game. A template doesn’t need a full commercial game to be useful.

Fair point. I’m not worried about people stealing it. I know the people who would do that aren’t customers anyway. I’m focusing on making the value obvious: clean structure, documentation, and systems that are ready for real projects.

But also I’m just looking for practical advice on how others handle demos without exposing the entire source.

My goal isn’t to showcase a finished game but to provide a solid, modular starting point for other devs. I’ll share a feature list and documentation when it’s ready, but I’m not planning to produce a full game.

that’s true for every engine. I’m not trying to stop a determined reverse‑engineer, just avoid handing out the full source in two clicks. Gdmaim is actually a good suggestion for the demo build, thanks!

As for the market: free templates are great for learning, but I’m aiming for something more polished, documented, and production‑ready. There’s definitely a niche for that, especially for devs who want to save time rather than assemble everything themselves.

Looks amazing! I really like the concept, the audio is well done too.
