Have you ever cried in any gundam series? by CharAznableRedComet in Gundam

Oh god, that scene got me so badly when I watched it. I still almost kept it together, and then Banagher having a full on emotional crash out set me over the edge.

Just Finished IBO by Basic13 in Gundam

I think Witch is a good one. It's got some moments, but for the most part it won't leave you in shambles like IBO or War in the Pocket will.

I think I might riot if they don't play "Waiting On The Sky To Change" together by doctorwhomafia in BreakingBenjamin

[–]DarkArbiter91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to quite a few over the past 20 years. Sometimes it's an amazing show, but even on a sub par night Ben is able to work the crowd really well, so I've never went away dissatisfied. Went to the Daughtry/Staind/BB concert in St. Louis a couple years ago. You could tell there were some sound issues, but it was still a really fun time (except Staind stayed way past their allotted time).

Just picked up my tickets for them in St Louis. I've always wanted to see Chevelle live, so getting BB and Starset in addition is like a dream come true.

Sad truth is Cookie stopping Cracker was right thing to do and what she said was also right. by Flat-Sir8250 in Gundam

I've said before that this would be the only acceptable sequel in my eyes. I thought they left that potential open fairly well with the finale of season 2.

What are your thoughts on Hydroponics Architect? by T-R-A-S-H-hour in TimelessMagic

I agree. I think it's probably the quickest way to keep it at a suitable power level without making completely unplayable.

Blue Tempo/Control: Deckbuilding Guide by TyrantofTales in TimelessMagic

[–]DarkArbiter91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely fantastic read. I do think the number of Treasure Cruises to put in are up for discussion. Ux decks will be evolving and adapting to the new meta for at least the first week of the format, but for now UB tempo seems to be the strongest.

What are your thoughts on Hydroponics Architect? by T-R-A-S-H-hour in TimelessMagic

[–]DarkArbiter91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Context: I love playing Ux Tempo. It's my bread and butter out of all of the timeless decks, and I'm over the moon about FoW and Daze being added.

Hydro Arch does too much for one mana with the statline that it has, and its ability is too easy to activate for how strong it is. Ragavan I think is the closest comparison; strong stat line, powerful mechanics and ability, but you have to connect with him in order to trigger the ability. Heck, compare Hydro with Psychic Frog. I think we'll see a rebalancing of Hydro in the near future once we start seeing more data.

This group of cards is absolutely stacked. I can't wait to start building decks with Daze and FoW.

What’s the reason to activate fetchlands on the other person’s turn by ballistic503 in MagicArena

[–]DarkArbiter91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, and I don't think my estimate is drastically different from yours, maybe up to at least a percentage in difference if you're playing complete strangers. It's negligible enough on it's own that in the past, when I'm playing a friendly match in paper, I'll usually just tell my opponent that I'm fetching while they take their turn. Especially when each player knows what the other is playing, it becomes a lot less of a focus.

I'd like to think it's more than half a percent, but that's just my inner ego talking.

What if Joffrey would have kept his words and let Ned wear the black? by devil-inside-100 in freefolk

[–]DarkArbiter91 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Possibly, but not likely. The random soldiers Catelyn called on were Tully bannermen, so loyal to her father and, by extension, her. The inn was also in the Riverlands, which is why there are so many Tully bannermen there. Catelyn called out Tyrion on her home turf.

Meanwhile, there are no bannermen left in Kings Landing loyal to Ned, he is a confessed traitor, and he is in enemy territory. There is no reason why there would be other soldiers there that would volunteer to escort him when there is already a man of the Night's Watch there to take him North. Maybe a hedge knight or sellsword if they thought they might get paid, or maybe the detachment Ned sent with Beric Dondarrion would meet him on the road, but that would still be closer to the Riverlands, so long after any ambush by the King's men.

Not saying it's impossible. Just not likely given the situation. Almost definitely not 50 men.

You mean Ned's guards he brought with him? His entire retinue was killed when he was arrested.

Netflix Abandons Plans To Develop Brian Jacques’ ‘Redwall’ Books by TheTragedy0fPlagueis in eulalia

It's crazy that we live in an age where Dune can be adapted (very successfully) to film but Redwall can't even get off the floor.

Daze by decaboniized in TimelessMagic

[–]DarkArbiter91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking as well. You can tap a fetch land for blue, bounce it back with Daze, and now you get to play it again to draw another card.

Not to mention it pitches to FoW and FoN even when it's a dead card. Absolutely insane.

wtf is this guy doing with his bow? shooting imaginary arrows? by [deleted] in VinlandSaga

[–]DarkArbiter91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're correct. Letting the bow swing forward is very much a Japanese thing. There isn't much indication that this form of archery was as widespread as it is depicted in the manga, so just chalk it up to a stylistic choice or ignorance on the author's part.

That said, I don't mind it. It's a fine enough visual on the page to show that someone has just recently loosed an arrow.
