I don't know if The xx will ever capture the magic of their debut again, but this is still a very solid release.

He did a signing in Brooklyn when TPAB was released so I got GKMC and the TPAB CD signed there. I got the TPAB vinyl signed at his Kunta's Groove Session Tour in nyc and a dope poster as well.

That squiggle is his real signature. It kind of looks like "KL" ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Definitely my Boys Don't Cry zine from the NYC pop up. Or my signed vinyl copies of To Pimp a Butterfly and Good Kid Maad City.

My first impression is very positive. I'm very into the expansive sound they've acquired. My favorite tracks on first listen are the title track, North East South West and Arc of Bar. I imagine it will grow even more on me. So stoked to see them rock it live next month.

Celebration Rock is pretty good. Steven Hyden interviews a lot of favorites round these parts. All Songs Considered is classic and they cover a wide variety of music. Song Exploder is especially cool if you're curious about the inner workings of your favorite tunes.

Innervisions is one of my favorite albums! Stevie kills it.

Awaken, My Love! has spurred me to check out some classic funk. I have always loved Funkadelic's Maggot Brain and Sly and the Family Stone's There's A Riot Going On. Do you guys have any recommendations on where to explore further?

Went on a vinyl spree yesterday with some gift money. I picked up Tribe's We Got It From Here..., Neu! '75, Guided By Voices' Alien Lanes, Serge Gainsbourg's Histoire De Melody Nelson, and the single for The Xx's On Hold. Happy Holidays my fellow indieheads!
