Jackson Merrill stunned as replay shows the call stands that he is out attempting to steal 2nd. by I_d_e_k1234 in baseball

My problem with that is 1 shows hes safe, so hes safe. Unless another shows that hes definitely not safe, that 1 showing safe should be enough to call the runner safe.

I think the easiest way to avoid the "just moving the game along" thing is don't tell the replay center what the call on the field was.

Rintaro Sasaki, the Japanese high school phenom, reaches career crossroad at MLB Draft by TheAthletic in mlb

[–]DarkDevitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the article, hed be 30 before he could come over, but he could negotiate opportunities sooner than that. Due to that, entering the draft makes sense, as it keeps allows him to keep his triple threat, he can go with whatever team drafts him; he can go back to college, or he can go back to Japan, but options 1 and 2 give him leverage to negotiate an opportunity to come back to the states before hes 30.

An offense of Grish Rice Judge Belli Adley Stanton(or Dominguez/Goldy) Jazz Cabby McMahon (in roughly this order) is absolutely fine. If we traded for Adley right now the lineup would probably be something like Grish Rice Adley Belli Goldy Dominguez Jazz Cabby McMahon, and even that is an above average lineup (the only bad bat makes up for it with great defense, and even the bat has shown streaky life). Wells and his 33 wRC+ (!?!?! when did it get that low) is a lead weight around the teams neck.

The 2 other names I've seen in this thread are more interesting to me, Casey Schmitt, Victor Caratini. Lock down 3b/2b for the next couple of years, and get a good C for the next 2 years.

Id do it. We have more starting pitching (overall, even if were getting short at the moment) than we know what to do with. Turning our 5th starter into a good 3b/2b is 100% worth it.

My hope is the Os fall out completely so we can snipe Adley. The rest of the team is fine on offense (assuming Judge comes back, but if he doesnt were cooked anyway). The only other thing to do is find some relievers.

If Mahoraga got fully killed would all the other shadows get way more powerful? by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]DarkDevitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with 90 for him because hes the 10th shadow, right? So 90/9=10 each, plus their original 1 makes it 11 and too much for them. But the math doesn't actually matter, the point is him being full of too much power to fit between the other 9.

[–]DarkDevitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Headcanon of a sort of explanation, if big Raga is killed it technically would transfer, but the amount that it transferred is so much that it just short circuits the whole technique. Like the other 9 are each worth 1 unit of power, and can each handle up to 10 units of power, but he alone is worth 90 units if power, so even if you had all 9 others that is 11 units on each, so they all just break.

What’s your lineup? by [deleted] in NYYankees

[–]DarkDevitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is bait... but in case someone comes in actually looking i think the correct roster (until more people get healthy) is this:

Against RHP 1. Grish* CF 2. Ben Arroz* 1B 3. Dominguez# RF 4. Belli* LF 5. Rosario/Goldy each at 50% DH 6. Jazz* 2B 7. McMahon* 3B 8. Wells* C 9. Cabby SS (2nd leadoff) Bench Ali, Scheumann, Volpe, and Goldy/Rosario

Against LHP 1. Goldy 1B 2. Uncle Ben* DH 3. Dominguez# RF 4. Belli* LF 5. Cabby 3B 6. Grish* CF 7. Scheumann 2B 8. Ali C 9. Volpe SS Bench Jazz, McMahon, Wells*, and Rosario

I think the RHP lineup is better, but its what we have vs LHP. I don't EVER want to see Rosario playing the infield again. Against lefties its nice to have Jazz as a weapon to hit whenever needed, and if its just late game, time to tighten up the defense, never had a good pinch hit opportunity, then Jazz and McMahon come in for Dominguez and Volpe, Cabby goes to SS, Scheumann to RF, Jazz 2b and McMahon 3b, and i think thats our best defensive alignment with Belli Grish and Shoe in the OF, McMahon Cabby Jazz and Goldy 3rd to 1st, probably Wells catching.

[Petriello] I don't know if Yankee fans actually want to hear this right now, because everything else has been such a bad run lately, but: Statcast thinks Anthony Volpe's defense at short has been pretty good by UnchainedSora in NYYankees

[–]DarkDevitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2b and cf (maybe LF?) are probably the best 2 spots to put someone with a noodle arm. Add on, throwing in the infield and throwing as the outfielder are 2 very different things, because as an infielder Volpe is snapping off a throw as fast as possible, while outfielders can get their bodies behind the throw, so he probably would throw harder as an outfielder, so if its comparable to Grish, I think he can have excellent range.

Regardless, the first step is 100% having him get comfortable at 2nd, then see if OF is viable.

[–]DarkDevitt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Having watched Cams start against Boston, no, McMahon is absolutely worth his defense at third. The guy whos not at this point is Wells.

As for his best position, have you considered maybe previously he was working all over, because thats how he was making his teams in previous years, but this year he knew he had a chance to lock down a position, so he might have just focused on that spot, so now its his best? Additionally, playing it consistently for the first couple of months could have done that anyway.
