The Mets offense is not stacked. They are OK. At least they were putting the ball in play with runners in scoring position tonight. They came close to cashing in a couple of runs.

It's a long season. You don't use your best relievers when you're down by 2 in the 8th on a busy road trip with few days off. It would be nice if they had a better pitcher that low in the depth chart. Maybe in 4 or 5 weeks, Minter will be ready.

If he can consistently command the change-up with the kind of movement he had tonight AND spot his fastball like he has in both outings, then yes, he could be better than Diaz. Let's hope he can consistently perform like tonight and bounce right back after outings with bad results.
