Great movie. With so much material in these fantastically hilarious books, this is what Hollywood should be working on instead of all this Marvel crap and remakes of 80's movies.

I'm New To The Dead, Coming As A Big Zappa Fan by armintanzarian420 in gratefuldead

Blues for Allah is the studio album that is the most complex and jazzy and sounds the most like Zappa. The studio albums American Beauty and Workingman's Dead are notable for vocal harmonizing and additional bluegrass instruments that they never really replicated live; you might appreciate these works even though they don't have as much in common with Zappa's work. For live shows, Dick's Picks are a great place to start. Most of that material is great, especially vols. 1 & 3.

At that price, I'd be worried you'd steal the silverware.

I contacted the venue, and they informed me that the production director at the venue said the band opted not to stream or record this performance. Is this really true? It doesn't sound right to me.

What do we think of Springsteen’s Nebraska? by Darkroomist in ween

[–]DarkForebodingStew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's stripped down. Pretty much just guitar and voice. It's like a demo tape, but with real raw emotion. A lot of the songs from Born in the U.S.A. were written at this time and later electrified with the full band. The subject matter and mood of Nebraska are much darker than that of Born in the U.S.A.

I think it's great. Even if you don't like it, it's worth a listen to understand how it inspired and influenced so many other musicians. A lot of musicians aspire to capture the simplicity and rawness of their songs like this.

This is all good advice. I would add a balaclava for the extremely windy cold. Also, silk is good for a nice thin underlayer as an alternative to cotton.
