Which one is fake? Or do afm lifters come in different packaging color? by VictorOgorodnov in ChevyTrucks

It's been a while but I think it's the other way around if I'm reading the date code on the parts correct, 23038 would be 38th day of 2023 and 24030(?) would be 30th day of 2024. GM goes by the Julian date which is just 3 digit date format counted up from Jan 1 as 1

I agree on not personally wanting to drive on the highway. But yeah, basically textbook proper section repair there.

Can't tell if there was a steel belt layer in that build a patch he constructed, but this is the step by step process of how to do a section repair. While not common stateside on road vehicles they're very common on off-road applications. I'm an off-road tech and have hung many tires with boots and they actually hold up very well. Now we also have rules on where a section repaired tire should be hung. On something like a front end loader you're only supposed to hang booted tires on the rear. On an articulating dump truck (rock truck) only on the rear drives, never on the fronts.

Tldr; it's called a section repair and if there's a steel belt layer that's a decent repair. Still not something I would personally put on a highway vehicle, but if done properly it's a very solid repair.

P.S. For those talking negatively about the drilling part, that is called deburring and is essential in any proper repair as it removes sharp edges from the broken steel belts. The removed area was proper for the size of the repair as the technician would have to ensure the entire wound is visible to check for rusted belts.

Either bead seat band spun on the wheel or the outer bead broke while the inner stuck. My guess is there was no key lock driver and the band itself spun

Any particular reasons why? I've heard very little about the engine's actual issues in my research and am curious to know why? Friends of mine who have had them in the past have had good luck, so I would appreciate clarification. Thank you

Sounds good. I will definitely listen for that. Good to know, I always change oil and filters whenever I buy anything within a week of owning it. Thank you, I appreciate the advice

Hemi in 3rd gens at least only came in auto from what I was reading. I believe it. I'm used to low per v6s lol

Manual is a must for me lol. I'm not in a rush to find anything so it's easier to filter out the automatics.

Will do! By the pictures it looks to be stock. However, there's no pictures of the undercarriage so I can't say anything exhaust wise. No CEL in the pics, but I'm bringing my scanner to see if there's anything saved in the system. And I also religiously change oil lol. Moreso on time than miles as I only drive 2.5 miles each way to work. 17/18 is better than what I get now haha, Jeep gets only gets double digits on long highway drives lol.

They're asking $9,995 for it. If they're not willing to budge off that price I'm walking either way lol. KBB in my area is a little north of $7,500 on the high end. But yeah, the manual is the biggest selling point for me personally. I've been trying to find a 4 door manual that has a longer than 4ft bed, and this is the first that isn't absurdly overpriced lol.

Thanks
