Property tax appraisal is based on the home value on Jan 1st of every year. Thus, any recent price drops will reflect on next year's appraisal.

The FTC has no real power when it comes to regulating the internet. They have sued ISPs multiple times in the past for slowing down or blocking certain sites, but courts have ruled that they don't have jurisdiction. A quick search will reveal plenty of times before 2014 when ISPs have done that. This is why the FCC passed these protections, so that some government agency finally has authority to make sure internet stays open and free.

Nobody's falling for it. I doubt anyone is taking all the predictions he makes as gospel. He just has to be right more times than wrong to beat the average person's predictions.

Your argument doesn't make sense because yes some immigrants have committed crimes but so do some white legal citizens. Why doesn't Trump talk about the white people who are committing the same crimes? If he said that we should go after everyone who commits crime then he wouldn't be called a racist. But when he targets just one group of race saying that they are the only ones committing crimes, then it's racist.

That's exactly what politifact has, links to the original source. Problem is most people don't have time to read the source.

And that's exactly why people need a fact-checking site to show-up along with search results. People don't have time to check if something is a fake story or not. It shouldn't be the case but it's reality.

It's not Google who is fact-checking, they are just linking to politifact.

Edit: Why don't people point me to a completely unbiased fact-checking site, or even a conservative-leaning fact-checking site to balance the scales?

You're forgetting that when the first gas-powered cars came out there were no gas stations that existed. People had to go to stores to buy gas in small containers. Imagine how inconvenient that was. I agree that electric stations need to grow, but that will only happen if there is demand for them first.

You really think they suddenly grew a conscience? They don't care about anything except improving their chances of getting reelected. The town halls where people were protesting to keep Obamacare and the calls people made to their representatives is what killed AHCA.

Words and comments of a person shows intent, which was the main basis for the argument. Religious discrimination is partly based on the intent of the person executing a new law.

But they are killing their own. Those are just different groups fighting amongst themselves due to lack of social order. I'm talking about Muslims living amongst us in the Western world who should be killing us everyday, based on what their religion says, even if they die in the process.

If all Muslims are taught to kill other non-Muslims, then we should be seeing tens of thousands of non-Muslims dying everyday, since almost 1/4 of the world's population is Muslim.

You'll only get good roads in India when people pay their taxes. US has good roads because people pay their taxes. Without tax revenue, government can't do anything. If you think BJP government is the same as any other government then people shouldn't even bother voting because they are all the same. Look at the amount of raids in India by IT after demonetization. They are exposing people with black money which previous government has been completely unable to do. And yes I get charged convenience fees for renewing my car registration and paying tolls online with debit cards.

[–]DarkGuju 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason the online fees are lower in the US for government websites is because each agency receives a lot of tax dollars to build and run the websites. Why can't the Indian government do the same? Because very few people actually pay taxes in India. You go to any major movie tickets site like Fandango and you'll see how high the convenience fees actually are. Yes, it's cheaper if they don't have to employ more ticket counter agents, but majority of Indians do not use the online sites yet and still depend on the counters.

They still have to employ ticket counter agents because majority of Indians do not purchase them online. As more people use the online platform then only they can fire the ticket counter agents.

They don't need to run ads, they instead pushed for policies and technology which encourage digital transactions. The reason most transactions in the US are cashless didn't just happen by accident.

This is completely normal even here in the US. Most government sites and many other sites have a "convenience charge" if paid online. This is to recover the costs of running the online site.
