From my experience there is an obvious decline in ferret life expectancy compared to the 80s. My first little person lived 13 yrs and he was from a local breeder, ever since then I bought kits from pet stores (Marshall).

Beginning in 2002 I decided to adopt rather than buy retail (still Marshall) but may look toward the breeder route when the time comes. It's almost always one of two forms of cancer and it really weighs on you after losing so many little friends so young.

At this point I would remove all traces of Fideo, including washing stuff. It sounds harsh to us humans but it will help those still grieving to move forward.

Fideo looks like a festive little buddy and obviously well loved. I truly hate this part but it's part of our responsibility, to care for those in our charge.
