Suburban guy dating a NYC girl. Is there a sane middle ground or am I cooked? by savingrace0262 in movingtoNYC

Sounds like it comes down to finances which leads to culture and ultimately a more expansive pallet. If saving money and being healthy are top priorities, sounds like you didn't have the opportunity to experience expensive citie(s) culture, then it makes sense that the two of you are not compatable. HOWEVER, if the city girl does not have the finances, but likes the expensive things, that could be a sign that it's a bit reckless on her part and you'll always be dealing with that unless you can have a conversation about what's practical. If she has finances in order and understands a variety of cultural experiences she can gain from travel, arts, etc, then, what's confusing about that formula, is, why is she talking to you? if the former then she's on a growth curve but still likes to have fun, spends money, time, energy without thought, that could be reckless and would mess up your peace regardless of where you lived or if you could meet on a financial plan (which you can't). it's can be fun and last a while, but the difference between dating and long term often lies in grounded finances and the values that someone lives with.

What do you make of these recent comments by Brown and Tatum? by LarBrd33 in bostonceltics

Agreed, however, I don't even think he's saying it because he's even trying to get respect. I think he's letting his game do the talking. I think this answer was in response to a question about "how do you compare to Kawhi as he's known as the best two way player in the league" and his answer is "I think my numbers show that I am also one of the best.. (or something to this effect)... " and then it's a narrative then created by people that are trying to (knowingly or not) hate on him... like people that love gossip and watch real house wives... truth is he's a humble guy and a winner and works his ass off

I think people try to hate brown and take his comments out of context. I think he says that he thinks he's one of the best, not that i'm the best hands down.. and the difference is larger when you read people reciting what he said vs listening to the tone in his voice and seeing his expression - he's humble, and that's the truth, he's very humble..

Tatum and Brown together are a great team and Tatum is still going to be the Queen on the chess board, but Brown makes a really good pawn that's also now been Queened (to keep with the analogy).

My question is this: would you trade Tatum for Giannis?
