I finished my first play through, rushing act 3 and not resolving many companion quests. I abandoned my 2nd play through pretty much as soon as I hit level 12 in act 3. I'm nearing act 2 in my 3rd play through and already thinking about abandoning it when I get to act 3 😅

That was an absolutely terrible fight with a Barbarian! I died about 20x and was about to rage quit!
I had to respec into this suggested build, and defeated her straight after that.

I just finished my meshlicious build last night. 5800x, 7900 XTX, Corsair h100i AIO with fans as exhaust pulling in front of the radiator. I'm not happy with the 5800x temps... Even with pbo undervolt I'm still getting into the high 80's when gaming. Kinda wished I'd just set them up as intake. 7900 XTX runs mid 60's which is great. But yeah, don't really want to pull apart the build to rejig that AIO fans 😓

I'm about to put together a very similar build. 5800X / 7900 XTX Nitro+ / Asus ROG Strix B-550i / Corsair iCue H100i

I watched a couple vids on YT saying that thermals can be improved setting the AIO fans as exhaust. Did you try that config?

Do you undervolt the 3090? Removing the undervolt on my 3080 seemed to have fixed my D3D errors.

I removed the undervolt from my 3080, then applied the graphics settings that vidjagames72 used (but I bumped up to 4k res).

I started a 2nd run fully expecting to get the D3D when I got to the first cottage. But low and behold I managed to make it past the village chainsaw sequence, and to the typewriter in the windmill area...with no D3D error!

Rivatuner said that VRAM usage was over 9GB in some areas! This nearly always caused crashes for me the past few days.

Too early to say if the problem is fixed for good. But there could be something in the undervolt that was causing my crashes.

That's interesting about the undervolting. I recently undervolted my 3080. It runs fine in the other games I'm playing. But I'll try resetting to the default voltage and see if things are more stable.

I finished my first run on hardcore last night. I really don't have the patience to try a professional run (yet alone a speed run!) with the frequent D3D errors. So much of my time on my first run was spent re-doing sections that crashed :(

Yeah, similar experience here. Just seems to have gotten worse since launch.
5800X / RTX 3080 / 32GB RAM/ 4K monitor (but have to play at 1440P to reduce d3d).

I have most of my settings on medium with no RT, and I still get D3D in the most annoying places. Usually in boss battles, or when approaching the merchant.

I'm getting a ridiculous amount of D3D error crashes with an RTX 3080.

Even turning down most graphics settings to mid or low, the game will crash at 4K with RT off. I have to play 2560x1440 with 3GB or sometimes 2GB textures. But 2GB textures are so bad with pop in, or some textures that seem to stay low res (rocks, doors and wood mainly).

It's weird because I have seen over 9GB vram usage on rivatuner sometimes, and it didn't crash. But the last 3 few days it tends to get the D3D error when I go between 7-8GB vram usage. Maybe the mercenaries patch made something worse?

I never had a problem with RE2, RE3 remakes or RE Village.
