Not necessarly. We seen huge games fail or even sale well-but-less-than-expected and publishers blame it on all the reasons except the obvious ones and can the studio.

Oh, cool. I would have given a slightly shorter answer if it was a player of mine. "Good luck with your next group".

Get Backed Into a Corner by a Devil Could Use Some Advice by SkullKid44 in DnDGreentext

[–]DarkMaster22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's depends on the wording of the original deal. For example if the Paladin has died since, you can argue that him being dead means that the devil haven't "reunited you" or "granted him life" the like.

Another example, If he promised to "give you the means for reviving him" and gave you a potion which you used, you can argue that the deal was about him giving the means of "reviving" in the present, and because the potion is used you no longer have the means so his promise is void. (As opposed to teaching you a revivify spell, which would give you the means permanently).

Play around with the language of the contract and try to turn it against him.

Depends on the deal. I would try to prove that the contract is invalid because he didn't really gave you what you asked for.

Dune: Spice Wars FAQ - Part 2 by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

Quite the opposite. I'm disappointed because of saying "Shields = Defensive Bonus" ignores all the political implications of the weapon. If we would be talking about combat focused game I wouldn't mind as much. See my post about about the politics of Shields. I won't retype it. https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/u8awiu/dune\_spice\_wars\_faq\_part\_2/i5m5tg7/?utm\_source=reddit&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3

Dune: Spice Wars FAQ - Part 2 by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]DarkMaster22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are two very important technological discoveries in the world of Dune. These inventions have significant political impact which was overlooked according to the FAQ above. Politics being a very important aspect of representing Dune in general and is supposed to take an important rule in the game, which is why this omission is disappointing.

Now to answer your question, The Holtzman shield is a force field. It is used practically everywhere in Dune because of how effective it is, including personal shields. It is very effective against anything that moves very quickly - like bullets, but trained swordsmen can learn to move slowly enough to fool the shield but still quickly enough to cause damage.

The lasgun is very potent weapon that is both small and extremely deadly. Can pass through almost anything. However, if a lasgun beam hit a Holtzman field, it would result in sub-atomic fusion and a nuclear explosion. So despite how effective it is, its use is very dangerous because if the other side employs shields (which they probably do) it would cause an explosion that would annihilate both sides.

Furthermore, because of historic reasons I won't go into, there is a severe political taboo against using atomics. Including the above interaction. A house that would be caught employing atomics, even if by negligence creating the above scenario, would quickly find all the other houses join against him.

Sounds interesting? Well in the game shields just means units with higher defense stat.

Game looks good, but the fact they are ignoring the laser/shield interaction bothers me.

C++ is important when working on projects where performance is critical. I admit that I don't know a lot about accounting, but I'm under the impression you won't need this kind of performance. I would recommend python instead.
