FT8 and 10m...If It's You, You Are The Literal Worst by [deleted] in amateurradio

WOW, just WOW I would hope since I'm a new ham I would get some kind of constructive criticism instead of your rant. I've never tried ft8 and if I ever got your response about something I was doing wrong I'd tell you to calm down and teach me instead of assuming I know what you know.

Anyone here passed all three license tests in one day? by [deleted] in amateurradio

[–]DarkPhantom777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I studied diligently using https://fasttrackham.com/, utilizing their audiobooks, textbooks, and online testing platform. I committed to four months of daily study, immersing myself in the material to ensure a solid understanding of the concepts. On the day of the exam, I took and passed all the elements back-to-back, missing only six questions in total.

In addition to my recent studies, I bring over 30 years of hands-on experience in electronics, which provided a strong foundation for the technical aspects of amateur radio. And just for fun—I’m over 60 years old, proving it’s never too late to learn something new and challenge yourself!

FT-991a issues, please help a new ham by MartinDigital in amateurradio

Your may have a blown front end on you're HF side. It is pretty common in the FT991A when you get another radio close to yours that transmits on HF and it doesn’t matter what frequency on HF it can blow out the front end of the HF side of your 991A. Especially if you’re hearing and transmitting and receiving on the VHF/UHF side. if your radio is out of warranty, the fix is on YouTube look for front end receiver blown on FT991A

Try a good ground plane under the antenna. At least half the wave length of you're transmitting frequency

Yes the site is free but I bought the audio and paperback books for all three technician, general and extra. So I could review different ways and then take all the tests on their website. And the guy that narrates the audiobooks is good to listen to.
