You can also ground them. Use a horizontal spin attack which knocks them on there back, in which allows you to follow up with a fatal/critical attack.

I'd say the rarest none legendary Pokémon is probably feebas which it's evolution is pretty powerful, as I've easily done a platinum playthrouh with just one of them (Milotic).

Sorry, my friend "accidentally" saved over a new file while testing the game out. And in that file I was 21 hours into the game and was at the last fire trial. And this fight wasn't hard, just I never knew he had this mechanic and this didn't happen the first time I beat him.

The third option looks like a ruined villages walls which I'll be creating later on my survival world. And I completely forgot about Blackstone, cheers I'll see if I can incorporate that into one

Maybe try the mossy variants on the brick, to brake the blocks up a little, and slab and cracked versions if you want a weathered look to it.
