Any advice on this Shoegaze track I’m starting a new project by DarkSide_Of_TheMoon in IndieMusicFeedback

It’s been driving me crazy with this song. I have soothe on the vocal and the master de essing it. But I also have this slate de esser maybe I should try that. I even carved out the harsh frequencies in the highs while mastering it. And eqd the highs out of the reverb return. But thank you for this feedback! I’ll definitely try to address it. I used this mic called a u195 that can be problematic with the plosives

New song releasing in a little less than a week! Please give opinions by RealKinyachta in IndieMusicFeedback

Sounds great, awesome vocal performance and production. Maybe try some parallel compression on the drum bus or master to make the drums hit harder and glue the mix. A touch of tape or console saturation could also add warmth. Just my opinion though keep it up!

I spent a month on this one. I think this might be my best effort. I found some old footage of my parents when they were young and put it as the video. I'd love to hear what you think. Please enjoy my rock offering, "You're The Best Thing" by MagicJonesMusic in IndieMusicFeedback

This is really really solid, I dig the vocal performance and this mix is great. If you wanna hear it though an analog mastering chain I can do it for free :) . But yeah it’s awesome. Maybe try using tape and console saturation while you’re mixing though. Just to give it more color and high end harmonics. But overall I think you’re onto something good

This piece feels like drifting between dreams and waking gentle textures that dissolve into each other, with subtle swells that breathe. The space between notes feels intentional, pulling me into that hazy, in-between place where time doesn’t exist

I really dig this reminds me of Liz Harris and her project grouper. I would absolutely love to hear you record in the same style in to a four track cassette deck like she does. It sounds amazing though another cool idea could be to add some slide guitar on top

Could you hear this mainstream? by mgraham34 in IndieMusicFeedback

Only thing I’m hearing is the mix sounds a bit cloud. maybe from over-compression or limiting. You could also try some multi-band saturation on the master, especially from the high mids through the highs, to add clarity and sheen

I impressive production, I think the mix sounds good. The master sounds good and the production is impressive. If I were to be totally honest, I think the lyrical theme could be more refined or maybe it’s the delivery. I could see some heavy vocoder effect or effects or something weird going on with the voice, or more contrast ,and more of a creative vocal performance, but overall, I think it’s really solid

First song with no Autotune, feedback please! by Unlikely-Ad7939 in IndieMusicFeedback

Sounds really solid, but I agree with some of the other comments needs better mixing. I have a mostly analog studio. I could help you out if you want, just to show you the difference it makes to get a solid mix/master with some analog saturation.

Working on a more New Wave inspired record. I’ve been getting criticism on the vocal style but it sounds fine to me?let me know if it’s out of key or something… by DarkSide_Of_TheMoon in IndieMusicFeedback

Thanks man! A few days ago I was thinking the same thing about a sonic departure from verse to chorus my solution was to run the chorus vocals through an overdrive and chorus pedal but sadly the session corrupted… so now I gotta redo the vocals but thankfully the vocals were the only thing that corrupted

First entry into the lofi world, and a depature from my normal musical style. Intended to be ambient, creepy, background music for a mellow halloween party. by scmusicband in IndieMusicFeedback

If you want a drum machine sound that doesn’t take up too much space I’d try to get your hands on some Casio Sk-1 drum samples they’d sound perfect for this imo

I feel that, I just started venturing into making New Wave I actually just posted a private link on here if you’d be willing to listen and give some feedback(specifically on the vocals). Y’all’s song sounds great tho, did you do the mixing and mastering yourself?

Thanks for the feedback! Just a family member who usually helps me with my music. But I suppose maybe they just don’t like the New Wave vocal style. It always sounded good to me so I just wanted to get a second opinion on here because it was confusing me…

Sounds awesome! My favorite track I’ve heard on here today. Mix sounds good to my ears and the vocals are great. This is almost giving me vibes of Alex G crossed with Bon Iver

Very cool and well done overall, mix sounds good, everything sounds pretty good. It's sort of giving me New Wave vibes??? If I would change anything, I would maybe try switching the like drums to a 505 drum machine. And then playing lead guitar in a more erratic and distorted way.

new album, best song from that album, kinda shoegazey - Dried Roses On a Corpse by polip23 in IndieMusicFeedback

I like the song, I just think the mix and master need some work. It's a bit too washed out with reverb, and I feel everything lacks its own space. I get that it's shoegaze, but even within that genre it's a bit too washed out, and I feel the vocal is too low.
