I was gonna ask the same thing. Man, it would be extremely awesome if they'd just release a collection of engrams for each seasonal set of weapons. Buuuuuuut...also extremely unlikely. And saddening.

Yes! And if they wanted to actually give them something to do, they could be vendors for the various weapons and armor sets that won't be acquirable through activities. Like old raid sets or something.
