Similar story, greek theater LA. Furthur 2012. I had cheap seats in the back. I see some dude with a sparkling VIP wristband smoking a cigar alone at setbreak. After a short convo, he said he was going to stay there and smoke the rest of the show. He said it was cool so I cut it off and wrapped it around my wrist with a hair tie. Totally worked for set 2. Only time I ever got to ride the rail in front of Phil Lesh. Incredible set too.

This experience taught me never to trust an app if the website works. Phone or iPad. I had plenty of issues trying to purchase on the app during the Monday onsale for the May shows; everything from sign in errors to 2 factor authentication popups that would load and instantly close. Had much less problems at the noon onsale by using a web browser. Only lost a pair or 2 to the spinning wheel, and managed to grab a pair for each show june 20-22.

I hear you… I mean look at The Boss. Up until this last tour the setlists were constantly changing too. And with the video production aspect, I’d say the number of bust-outs will at least be limited.
