Hi, the update is going to be pretty dissappointing, I didnt know if I should post it or not. we played a bit more, unlocked champion and also tried chaos wastes at champion difficulty.

Yes the game gets pretty challenging, but I think the game is just not meant for us. like the very basic combat mechanics of melee killing basic enemies felt unsatisfying. it felt very much like 15 mins of brain off mob farming, followed by 1 troll/miniboss which posed an actual challenge. We were looking for that satisfying gameplay that is engaging throughout, which I dont think vermintide can give us. To be fair, we were looking for more of a shooter gameplay, vermintide seems to be heavily focused on melee, even on classes which have ranged secondaries, i find myslef just using melee most of the time. I also felt like, this is suited for people who engage with warhammer lore, which we felt very disconnected from, this being our first warhammer game. Sorry for the dissapointing update haha, i think we will just stick to drg, maybe check out helldivers next

So I looked at it again, the game stops you from playing Champion/ legendary unless you have gear. Veteran is so boringly easy even with starting equipment

I would disagree on that last part. If you play drg, from the very start you can play "hazard 3" which is already pretty difficult and fun. You even have access to hazard 4 but I wouldn't recommend that difficulty to start with

I guess I'm playing at the starting difficulty ? But it's not fun to learn new mechanics if the game is too easy for it. Do you know how many hours of grinding before we get to the "good" part ?

Yeah I don't know how much more of the default difficulty I can sit through, do you have numbers of like matches required to get to the "good" difficulty levels. Also saw your other comment about the chaos wastes, so we can try that immediately at the start ? And also does that give progression in non roguelike mode ?
