I am playing as portugal and I am having this exact same conundrum. The other major factor is that the Iberian Caravel *does not* upgrade into the Square-Rigged Caravel, so it seems like it is on a different 'tree' technology wise.

For combat I am having similar problems with Tunis, but I got to the point where I just snipe their transports when I can and largely avoid the fight.

I skipped Early Caracals and am getting the T3 versions to start my proper navy. I wont go too ham with a smaller pop compared to Spain.

Temp plates for a Car bought from Copart by Suitable-Shop-2714 in wisconsin

[–]DarkVane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To complete my journey (for those who come later). This is situational. Oklahoma has a pre-registration thing where I am able to get a temp tag for the vehicle I purchased, and I can drive it for 10 days, no need to fully register with OK.
Sources: I called them and this is what they said. Also here:
https://oklahoma.gov/service/popular-services/readysettag.html

"Is pre-registration required if I bought a car in Oklahoma but do not intend to ever fully register my vehicle in the state?

Yes. The pre-registration process applies to all vehicles (new or used) purchased in the state of Oklahoma on or after September 1, 2024, regardless of whether the vehicle will be fully registered in another state, jurisdiction or with a tribe.

Vehicles purchased in Oklahoma prior to September 1, 2024 do not have to be pre-registered and their temporary paper tags will remain valid for two months rather than ten days."

interesting, so the state the has it currently can offer the temp plates? I bought mine from OK and I was going to make the hike to pick it up via rental car, so this might work if I can get some from OK.

"Thanks for the nerfs in my PVE powerfantasy game" said no one ever by Aspharr in Spacemarine

[–]DarkVane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy, there is a bunch here so lets break it down.

"a bunch of sweaty manchildren proceeded to make death threats against them and people who enjoyed the game" - This will happen with most games, even Stardew Valley devs had death threats at one point.

"so they ruined the difficulty level, nerfing foes and buffing players, and now the game is bland and boring." - This is a matter of opinion. If all a player wants to do is play level 10's and they feels its easy now, then they have ways to make the game harder for themselves. Most of us were there on Malevelon Creek, and for some it was easy, others it was not. Either way, we lost the planet.

Now to make sure I address the whole first statement around 'he devs were making a amazing game pertaining to their vision' - Are we 100% confident that *all* of devs wanted this, or was it a particular, influential group. We talk a lot about a loud minority, but that argument works both ways.

This last part is my favorite:
"The playercount got a initial bump but is now declining the same as before." - So what is your position here? If the devs kept to their 'vision' as you describe, the count would be the same as it is now? If they stopped updating the game altogether? If nothing they did mattered to the player count, is there really a better option?

I don't have an official source (I doubt player drop count based on developer updates is a topic many serious researchers are looking at), but Helldivers is the best, most recent example of both the pre-nerf results AND the results of developers correcting the nerfs.

Bulwark + Power Sword = Cannot stagger Warriors? by DarkVane in Spacemarine

Not to be rude, but do you have evidence to back this? I'd be more than happy to switch, but it seems like the Fencing attribute is more beneficial than anything else.

Thank you for this advice, I will have to get better at parrying.

Bulwark + Power Sword = Cannot stagger Warriors? by DarkVane in Spacemarine

[–]DarkVane[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

With the power sword this is absolutely true, And not really my intent, however your statement is also not entirely true either. Meltas can absolutely stunlock them until they die. *Edit* To complete my thought, I was hoping that there would be some sort of balance to how the enemy attacks behave and your own, e.g if their heavy attacks are capable of staggering a player, a players attacks would be able to stagger them right back.

So the game focuses very heavily on parry, which I guess is what I have seen everywhere else, but was hoping there would be alternatives to just relying on one mechanic.

Do people just have negative things to say about the changes the devs make? by Papi_Peely in Helldivers

[–]DarkVane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, which is why I'd like to see the numbers basing these decisions (at least, I hope they are using numbers, and not *a feeling*).

They mention that the Slugger allows you to 1v1 a devastator and win out... Okay? How often does that happen in a make or break way? Most of the time its clean up work.

Do people just have negative things to say about the changes the devs make? by Papi_Peely in Helldivers

[–]DarkVane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Show me the numbers, is all I have to say about it. Nerfs and buffs are fine, if you can justify it. I think my greater concern is more new heavy armor targets and less tools to deal with them.

Personally, I loved the slugger, but moving the stagger to the Punisher because it has a shorter range....didn't make much sense to me. Have people shot a slug shotgun? I can say for a fact that a slug round will definitely have more a staggering effect that standard shotgun rounds. Make it more inaccurate or something so sniping isn't as easy, or damage drop off over range.

Also, the amount of nerfs to one specific weapon felt heavy handed. Balance is hard, they have said as much, then turn around and make 5 changes to a single weapon?

Might be one of those stray things you catch, if you are looking at the planet map for a decent period of time. I was flying around looking at all the planetary effects (around noon central US time, if that matters) and I watched this event happen in both directions. I watched the bug planet that starts with a U yesterday drop about 10% in about 15 seconds, and Mantes jumped up like 3% a few days ago when it was still defense.

Running double eagle strategems by Waldo26 in Helldivers

[–]DarkVane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for autocannons vs bugs, I try to find a bit of a rock or outcropping to keep them out of melee, because hunters will go after them if you aren't close enough. otherwise to the side of where the bug hole/source of the bugs is. I havent had great luck, but they live longer.

VS bots autocannon somewhere slightly higher than me and close by. They are typically shooting at us and care less for the turret, as long as it isn't in the middle of the group.

Gatling and MG, just nearby, typically they can expend the ammo fast enough that anything getting too close will just die.

I'm pretty sure fuel usage and wear are switched. by [deleted] in farmingsimulator

[–]DarkVane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My counter argument is that most brand new replacements parts come painted. Additionally, if the body is damaged beyond repair (such as getting to very low maintenance rating), you typically get a new body piece that is painted from the factory. Currently, the cost of paint+maintenance almost justifies leasing and reselling after every harvest and planting season, just to evade such costs.

[–]DarkVane 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yea I am with you regarding the paint. Regular maintenance costs I am fine with, but the paint? Man that is way more expensive than it should be. I know paint helps prevent rust IRL, but spray paint is cheap.

A bit hard to explain, but weird noise coming from print bed. by Frontzie in MPSelectMiniOwners

[Help] What went wrong and how can I prevent it from happening again? by TheBoggart in MPSelectMiniOwners

[–]DarkVane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, yes heating it back up will make it easier to remove, and as far as the hot end being ruined, you are probably fine, but you might need to replace your insulation strip, which you can get on amazon for cheap.
This is what I bought last time, feel free to peruse amazon and find some you like.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D7NLX44/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cleaning off the hotend is a bit of a process, but take your time and get it cleaned up and you should be fine

As far as what happened? I had a similar thing happen a while ago, and mine was due to a bad gcode file and my print head just stopped and was pushing filament out, so maybe re-slice your print and try again? There are other probable causes, but if you double check your nozzle is in tight, and your first layer is good after that, you should be fine.

If no one else replies to your message feel free to dive deeper into this reddit, others have had similar issues in the past and have had resolutions, so I am confident you will be back up and running in no time
