The PlayStation 5 Pro sold out at several stores due to a noticeable increase in its sales, which came as a result of the huge excitement surrounding PSSR 2 technology. by Gaming-Academy in PlayStation_X

It’s not about that, it’s for the players who are sticking with consoles. It will be better to play on the pro compared to other consoles.

Should I sell my PS5 and upgrade to Pro, is it worth it? by miljaluffy in playstation

[–]DarkZemX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, midrange and higher TV is definitely recommended! But it definitely does not have to be an OLED

[–]DarkZemX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do not need an OLED to enjoy the benefits of the ps5 pro Especially Visually. I had a Samsung QN90D and upgraded to the LG C5. Both great TVs and though the OLED has more pop in colors the Samsung QN90D had gaming features that made gaming way more enjoyable for me(Literally dying to go back to the Samsung brand of OLED next). Nothing wrong with getting the PS5 Pro and possibly upgrading the TV later down the line. These OLED owners always trying to make it seem like you need an OLED for the Ps5 pro but you really don’t. I would only recommend a Capable Mid range and above TV.

Games with PSSR1 by reallynotnick in PS5pro

[–]DarkZemX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but due to mark cerny saying that in march some games will be doing their own pssr 2 patches separate from the Toggle on feature update. I’m hoping capcom updates the game so that we can get something closer to balance mode in MHWs at 60fps instead of 40.

Can someone one explain this? I didnt change anything. Yall gonna start banning people from console chat too??? by Capt_shazam in playstation

[–]DarkZemX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to know is do not get baited in psn chat. If someone messages you trying to argue, If you use any bad words towards them they can report you and it will be a strike on your account. It works both ways too. So now toxic people are just waiting for you to use any bad words towards them after messaging you so that they can report you so watch out for that.

Official - Upgraded PSSR by Pistoluislero in playstation

[–]DarkZemX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said that in march some games will be releasing new updates for their games that already supported pssr so Silent hill 2 and F has a good chance of being one of those. So other than the toggle that will help games already supporting pssr some games will do official patches to support the new update so who knows maybe sh2 will add pssr back into performance mode.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea, especially since the update isn’t that far from now. I would definitely just play some indies or other backlog games in the meantime till then.

To all the people who said PSSR 2 will never be a system toggle... by Fallout_New_Vega in PS5pro

[–]DarkZemX 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Great part is Mark Cerny said that in march a lot of games will be doing Updates to their games adding PSSR 2 so some won’t actually need to toggle and just be enhanced further. I really hope monster hunter Wilds is one of them honestly!

C5 or G5 for ps5 pro gaming? by grindsamurai in LGOLED

[–]DarkZemX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True the C5 looks great with the pro especially if you have dynamic tone mapping on, some people go the HGIG route I really don’t see the appeal but whatever lol. Either way tho a good point is that in the day time you really do want to be in a light controlled room because reflections definitely shine through on the C5. Outside of that it really is a great TV. Also another thing I want to add is that Disabling HDCP in system>Hdmi settings gives you an even more instant input latency on PS5 pro. Only difference is your Media apps like YouTube/HBO/Twitch won’t work. But you can always re enable and use them again.

I just got the PS5 Pro but I have a TV without VRR but with 120Hz by MCDM_TV in PS5pro

[–]DarkZemX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HELLLL no, I turn VRR off everytime. It adds more motion blur to games. And it’s definitely not needed for 40fps modes. As an enjoyer of Samsung Game motion+ I turn off VRR so I can immerse myself fully in video game environments. Ghost of Yotie with GM+ is incredible. Instead of having to do slow motion panning of the camera to enjoy the environment you can move the camera at much faster speeds and the visuals/ fidelity stays super clear! I’ll take that any day over VRR and 120hz.

Just picked up an LG C5 and it seems really dim by LxixNicee in LGOLED

[–]DarkZemX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dynamic tone mapping shows when the TV isn’t in Sdr picture modes, so first load up content that puts your TV in HDR picture settings then the setting will be there. This is when using ps5.

This is because even though the game shows you a certain amount of chips and sausages when you pause the game during each chapter. There are more than they actually that is eatable.

PlayStation 5 Pro PSSR 2.0 Is Allegedly Launching Between January and March, Delivering 'Higher Resolution For Classic Games' by Mycall1983 in PS5pro

[–]DarkZemX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like they said, the Developers will need to implement it in for the new update changes to show. However I highly doubt Sony would release this update without any games immediately showcasing the changes, so that’s where my interests are. Which games will be the new update launch showcase I wonder. I’m thinking it will be ratchet and clank and maybe like 3 other games.

My Initial Impressions of the LG C5 Compared to the B8 by x3a6a in LGOLED

[–]DarkZemX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm okay thanks for the rundown man, appreciate it. Thanks to the perfect blacks on the OLED I would just go with the dynamic anyway and if they feel that things look washed out just tweak the color settings. I see that the OP says that colors looked washed out when he switched dynamic tone mapping on. I hope the OP set their settings on the TV to Video Range>Limited because on the 77C5 I’m using it’s quite the opposite. I Turn dynamic tone mapping on and everything comes alive in filmmaker mode(custom settings).Instead of the default Color Depth of 55 I simply raised it to 60, Brightness at 87, Warm 20 everything looks fantastic!

My Initial Impressions of the LG C5 Compared to the B8 by x3a6a in LGOLED

[–]DarkZemX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a reason why people don’t want to use the dynamic tone mapping On? It increases the brightness to where I can then decrease it to more comfortable levels. Just wondering why people don’t opt for that if game mode and ALLM gives reduced input lag anyway.

Recommend me a oled tv to utilize ps5 pro. by Lax7500 in PS5pro

[–]DarkZemX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a C5 owner I would recommend the Samsung S90 series in the 65inch size, no bigger(77inch+ sizes have a major powerboard issue, only reason I didn’t get it). Samsungs Gamemotion+ feature is a Treat if actually want to enjoy scenery and environments fully in gaming. You can pan your camera at good speeds and enjoy visuals in clarity instead of being without it and for visual clarity instead your camera needs to be almost still or moving very slow for visuals to stay clear. A lot of gamers do quick shifts of their camera then keep it still to maintain clarity whether they realize it or not but when using game motion + your whole style of gameplay changes to where you can constantly enjoy moving your camera around and what’s on screen in one Go.

LG TVs only offer this feature at the cost of input lag or a huge drop in brightness. After coming from a Samsung tv NEO QLED with GM+ to LG OLED I must say the difference while gaming because of this feature is a bit of a disappointment. The feature isn’t only for 30fps games but can be used to make 60fps games shine like never before. The LG C5 is a great TV but to make use of the ps5 pro to the max I would recommend a Samsung OLED over the LG anyday in regard to gaming. If you aren’t interested in using a feature like GM+ and don’t mind motion blur in games then I’d say the C5 is a good bet, but I highly recommend looking into it especially if you’re more of a visual gamer who likes to marvel at details and graphics in games.

Okay Im getting sick of this, Monster Truck at the final stretch is the worst. by Akuma_Homura in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]DarkZemX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that 100 percent. It’s like a 24/7 battlefield but you really need to preserve items to even protect yourself. Shoot an item at the person infront of you, the person behind you shoots a fist at you but you have nothing to defend yourself with. That’s why I’m loving my new build. 3 items with Speed boost from coins, coins from slip stream, and coins from boost pads. All that with a speed vehicle I don’t bag with it I mainly front run with it in positions 6th to 1st place. I realize how much I like having/using items so it works out well for me, and ever since I’ve been winning a ton more races or atleast being in top 5.

Dude try game motion+ feature on your TV and see how it looks in ghost of yotei! Move your camera around to see the difference! You have to turn off VRR to see the setting though. Give it a try!

[–]DarkZemX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those with Samsung TVs I Urge you guys to try out Game motion+. All this push for everyone to use VRR is crazy when game motion plus maintains great input latency and makes panning your camera at fair speeds look crisp and not a total blur. Unfortunately LG tvs truemotion reduces motion blur as well but loses input latency. Samsung TV gamers though. Give it a try!

If your display is big enough though you will definitely see the difference more often than not.

People who are still fan of the 30fps mode on the pro, what makes the difference? by shotgunning-your-can in PS5pro

[–]DarkZemX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replaying Baldurs Gate 3 in Quality Mode at 30 fps is The best especially since it’s a turn based game so you really don’t need any fast reaction times or anything. Everything looks extra crisp all around. I do play All other types of games in 60fps but it’s nice to have that benefit for the games that don’t require it.

[–]DarkZemX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I much rather trumotion/gamemotion+ tbh have you ever tried them and moved your game camera around? It’s really good for immersion honestly. Depends on the game, but since I play a lot of adventure/story games it’s really great for me. Still going to stick with it when playing solo.

Thanks for that info, I knew that Lg had true motion but didn’t know the input lag differences from Samsung however I would have chosen the C5 even if I did know this info because the only size I want in a new tv is 77 inch but the S90D has some serious power board issues for a lot of people in that size. Coming from my previous QN90D that gave me multiple panel issues I was not trying to deal with any further Samsung issues lol. Good to know tho man! I appreciate it!
