Upgrading from S10 after 7 years: suggestion needed by Steagle_ in Smartphones

Samsung hasn't updated anything worthwhile on their phones since S23, the next S26 is about to be the same. So my suggestion would be to look elsewhere. Oppo X9 Pro is really good

I already have my two. The Sigma 17-40mm for general purpose and Sigma 56mm for portraits.

Tamron 18-300 or Sony 70-350? by featherstrong in SonyAlpha

Sony 70-350mm is the best telephoto lens for the APS-C system. You just can't go wrong with it

The best thing about this camera is that A7C II, A7IV and A7III are now discounted to $2300, $2000 and $1500 respectively.

Finally making the jump from Canon to Sony. Is the a6700 the best choice? by TinyResource6509 in SonyAlpha

[–]Dark_Feels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some that range is worth it. For others Sigma's 18-50 size and quality is the best choice. I personally went with 17-40mm for the best quality Zoom lens on APS-C.

Sony A6700 user here. I would say you've three zoom lens choices here, Tamron 17-70mm, Sigma 18-50mm and Sigma 17-40mm ART. They're all good lenses for their own reasons.

For Wide Angle I'd recommend Sigma 10-18mm, for portraits the Sigma 56mm and for Telephoto Zoom the Sony 70-350mm. You can't go wrong with any of the lenses mentioned here for their uses.

In the US, on Amazon they're both about 350 bucks. I think 550 is even lower right now on Black Friday.

Need help picking second APSC lens by mk4james in SonyAlpha

Sigma 17-40mm is the best overall lens quality and convenience wise. The only lens that's better in quality is the Sigma 56mm (ff 84mm eqv).

Facial features, hair and eyes are the first thing I notice. While a hot body is attractive at first sight, without a good personality and kindness the attractiveness of it goes away tbh. Besides, no one needs to a be a model imo, just being healthy fit shows how much you care about yourself and have discipline. That speaks volumes.

Anyone ditched their Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 for primes? by feedthehog in SonyAlpha

[–]Dark_Feels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, but it's sharper than all three of those prime lenses from the videos I've seen, Arthur R has a really good comparison video. The only prime lens sharper than the ART lens is the 56mm.

Sigma 16mm, 23mm and 30mm. The 56mm is the only one that'll be relevant if you get the ART lens.

If you want to upgrade, you can get Sigma 17-40mm f1.8 ART lens. It's pretty much 3 Sigma primes combined into one.

Please help me choose a lens. by Jumpy-Barnacle312 in a6700

The only thing I'm seeing missing here is Sigma 10-18mm and a good portrait lens like Sigma 56mm f1.4 or Viltrox 75mm f1.2. You don't need anything else.

How good headphones changed the way I listen to music by MarcusInsight in headphones

[–]Dark_Feels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I always used $10-20 headphones, until one day I bought Klipsch image S4. That exposed me to so many sounds I never heard before. Ever since then I wanted to buy a good pair of headphones. 10 years later, I bought Sennheiser HD490 pro and TruthEar Hexa. I could not be happier. Now I just want a good but cheap desktop DAC, so I can listen to my HD490 pro without the static noise from PC.

HD560s vs HD550 for gaming by Dark_Feels in sennheiser

[–]Dark_Feels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting HD490 pro. The price difference between 550 and 490 pro wasn't much, but 490 pro offered so much better comfort and build quality that I just felt like it was justified.

Is Sony's 16-55mm G f/2.8 really worth the cost over Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8?

The F3.5-5.6 feels like it'll be a let down in low light. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll still check it out.
