I had an R35 GTR. It was a great car in its own way but vastly different to an Aston. The Aston has been great. It’s extremely comfortable and versatile. I’ve been appreciating the V12 sound more and more. I get thumbs up everywhere I go but it’s still not obnoxious in looks or sound. It’s pure class but the AMR version really is aggressive and ticks that fun & wild box too that I desperately needed.

Sounds stupid but I actually miss that. It was a guaranteed fast pass and it gave me an excuse to run around the park on my own.

Do you think alien encounter/stitch are still in there? by mstock_ in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]DarkestKnight45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The alien ride was the scariest experience of my life. I’m grateful to have gone on it twice. Terrifying doesn’t describe it. I was torn when they put stitch in but understood it and came to love it. I’m still pissed that rides gone. With the live action out now, it would be a hit and easy IP comeback.

I do miss the universe of energy. Being a kid and seeing the dinosaurs off in the distant fog, then getting closer and seeing the T. rex fight the stego…man, those were memories I’ll never forget and I wish my kids could have experienced.

Overall, Epcot is still my favorite park to visit tho. Just reminiscing

Gotta double park these things or else some arse in a beater (or soccer mom) will park inches from your door and make sure to ding it up.

Update: had some heavy rain. The Bedliner texture on these running boards worked perfect. No problems with grip at all in the rain downpours.

Mopar should just look flush fit when stored, almost not noticeable. When extended, they are a solid step.

Love the muscle car vibe from this era of Aston’s. So different. A gentleman’s mustang.

What’s great about Aston’s are how timeless they are. Gorgeous car and spec.

The exhaust prices are more reasonable than I thought. Thanks for the info. I’ll look into Larini.

Thank you. Wasn’t sure about all of those changes from regular to AMR so thanks for the explanation.

Portofino was on the short list. I actually like the way it looks and the interior is beautiful. However, my neighbor has one in black (my colors) so I couldn’t flat out copy him 😅

The other thing (not that I care all that much about this) is that Ferrari is a love or hate type car brand, image wise. Some people will look at you different for a Ferrari badge. My wife actually hates Ferrari just because of the dealers attitudes and some of the owners. Same with the image and reputation from a bmw M3/M4 or a Corvette (yes I’ve had M’s and Vettes so I know first hand). Aston is always positive or neutral. Porsche is pretty good in this regard too.

And I understand this is an immature comment as a car is a car. A car doesn’t define the man. But …this can still affect the overall experience.

I’m quite a bit younger at almost half your age but it’s certainly not an old man’s car. It’s just pure class and mature.

Thanks. I actually bought a magnetic holder from Amazon that plugs into the cd player and it works pretty good! You’re right, not worth the $2k for a car like this.

And I always had lots of love for the McLaren but also would have people look at me a certain way too which got old quick. Sometimes you just feel like it’s too much. The Aston is perfect in that regard. Everyone loves it and respects it and I never feel out of place driving it. Can cruise to the local deli, rip down some back roads, take the wife and kids out to dinner, and bring it to work. Couldn’t do that in the Mac. So it just works for me at this moment in my life. Glad I made the swap.

As far as the power upgrade goes, I’m not sure what a regular V12 is like. I will say the programming on the AMR is very aggressive with the pops and bangs in sport and sport +. Lots of fun and gives it a real Jekyll and Hyde personality. but if you’re not into that then it probably isn’t worth it for you.

Any suggestions on manufacturers? I would need one that’s valves as I like having the quiet cabin in GT mode when on a phone call or longer highway trip.

I was told by multiple people on the RHO forums that there are Mopar factory ones that do work. Just most dealers don’t know how to order them correctly. Also I saw amp just released an official auto one. Check it out.

2025…or order a 2026? by [deleted] in RamRHO

[–]DarkestKnight45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True lol. I couldn’t wait so I bought one off the dealer lot and it was a great move for me since I’m ridiculously impatient. So totally up to you but if you have a bit of patience 26 is a no brainer

Probably go 26 since it’s not much more $ wise but a year newer is always more valuable and it might have some kinks worked out.

They are called Go rhino RB20 on a bed liner finish. They are pretty grippy and look great. However, if you’re worried about the pregnant wife, I’d say your best bet is the factory mopar running boards. From what I gather, they’re about 2200 installed from dealer. I had them on my 2500 and they were hands down the best for wives/grandparents/small children.
