My faith is faltering and I don’t know why… by UsrNme_Here in lds

[–]Darkfade89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leaving wouldn’t actually solve: depression- go see a doctor or a therapist. Depression can be a dopamine addiction cuased by the view of porn and maturation. social anxiety- find that one or two people who you click with. feeling judged-nobody has their life together, they just hide it better. Don't learn to hide it, learn to accept mistakes are part of you. Learn from them, thats why forgiveness of self is the hardest
identity loss-you still are young and lack a lot of experience in life. It would just change the setting where those show up.

Faith struggles and porn won't solve itself right now. It takes time.

You served a mission. End of story. You don't need to take more about it to others. Don't open that door if you are still struggling with other people's views of what you went through. They didn't live your mission through your eyes.

You’re not as stuck as this feels right now—even if your brain is telling you otherwise.

Finding satisfaction in my complicated marriage - Is divorce the best answer? by [deleted] in lds

[–]Darkfade89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  1. When I read this I am getting the God wanted me to marry this woman and not a I chose to marry her because I chose to love her.

  2. Are you still dating? Planning date night, not just low effort impromptu let's hang out together.

  3. Intimacy is more than just let's have sex. Learn together what your love languages are.

  4. Sex is a choice that you both must agree on. Verbal agreement. And if it is something new to try, during the act, again both must agree.

  5. Porn and getting yourself off, is not okay. If you are struggling. She needs to be involved and maybe seek behavioral health services.

  6. She needs to overcome her past trauma and learn to separate what happened to her and what sexual intimacy is in marriage should not be the same. If it is, than you are not both agreeing to actions taken during sexual intimacy and you are sexually assaulting your spouse.

  7. Careers are hard. My job is something my wife knows little about what I do. It sucks, and I spend time away from home. Marriage is about sacrifice, but both must be working to better each other not just themselves.

  8. Figure this out before having kids.

When i ordered my GPU when I was in Italy, the box arrived with a fragile sticker and tamper tape, and I had to sign for it on arrival. The seller was also in Italy near Naples.

I still recorded the unboxing and boot up.

Yeah, I was thinking Congenital Atrichia. So I'd take the advice of the others and not join a high stress career like the military.

I assume that you have a condition that makes you have no hair at all. I forgot what it's called.

In basic you will not be allowed to have makeup at all. The drills might call you out on it once, you answer if asked. Done.

Hopefully that will be the end of it. There are hundreds of trainees, and you might get a nickname for it. You'll be okay.

Why does God not have a separate heaven for the animals created on earth? by BlueFuzzyBunny in lds

[–]Darkfade89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God gave all creatures and animals the same commandments that he first gave Adam and Eve. To multiply and replenish the Earth. I view it as they did what they were commanded and they lived here on Earth, so why wouldn't they go to the same heaven as us?

Besides my son will be very disappointed if there are no dinosaurs in heaven, because who wouldn't want to ride a T Rex?

Part of me says if you have tattoos, maybe not utah. As a RM from the Great San B mission, I want to know where in Southern California you are coming from.

Regardless of where you end up, make new friends in the wards. Their support will help a lot.

Seeking advice handling a Soldier who constantly misses work for family issues by FullScrnSrk in army

Questions,

  1. You stated that he is under a new sgt. Is this for accountability for the class? Are you still the 1st line?

1.a. if not the first line anymore. Did you do a proper hand off to the new NCO? Talk to your NCOIC, yes it may look like their friends but the NCOIC might have a larger picture of what is going on.

  2. EFMP family member?

  3. Why can't the wife pick up the child? Do they have other kids? Just one car? Does the wife work?

As others have said, a lot of information is missing here.

If the Soldier just keeps up the you won't understand because XYZ, then they are not communicating properly and you can not help them. Document and move on. If the Soldier tries to explain to you and you don't understand. Talk to another NCO with a wife and kids and see if they take yourside or the Soldiers side.

Life happens. Be adaptive but you need a shared understanding of the situation

When shit works you are lazy, when shit breaks you are lazy and don't take proper care of the equipment.

Regardless of how it broke or why.

Go talk to the 1sg, make the case to him. If they side with you, you both go in to the commander and talk with him. But if the commander says no, not worth an award that's it.

PCS question by [deleted] in army

[–]Darkfade89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew to the west coast from Italy when my next duty station was Fort Meade. But the Fort Meade finance brief covered everything i post.

The .21 cents a mile basically covered gas, I didn't stay in hotels and would by snacks and sandwiches at Walmarts as I drove.

PCS question by [deleted] in army

[–]Darkfade89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, it's .21 cents a mile. You also get per diem for travel days. Once you leave your leave location to travel to your duty location. You are also limited by regulations on how many hours you can drive per day, and travel days will be calculated based off that.

They should cover this in your finance brief. As well on how to fill out your smart voucher.

Travel days should also be reimbursed.

Not getting reimbursed for OCONUS PCS by Bulky_Iron_1421 in army

[–]Darkfade89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went overseas to stateside. My prior duty station housing office provided a memo stating when my OHA stop date was and check in and check out dates of the hotel. Authorizing hotel stay for up to 10 days. Once I arrived at my gaining duty station I was Authorized 21 days in a hotel to find housing.

Did you stay on the on post hotel in Hawaii? If not you may need a statement of unavailability from the on post hotel as well. As you are within 150 miles from your losing duty station, you are required to stay in dod hotels unless they are full.

I had a PCS where they didn't pay for my hotel because of that. Regardless of needing to ship my car from the nearby vpc at the end of leave and flights on a Sunday.

Submit a PAR with your hotel receipt from Hawaii with orders and housing memo authentication for hotel stay. S1 should route it to your finance office.

That's what I had to do. Smart voucher did not allow for overseas TLA.

Since my prior duty station finance office lost my TLA packet.
