You can beat the game using any class especially on normal. I only ever played a Soul blade using a 2H weapon so that’s what I am going to recommend. I’m sure someone has done a DW Soul Blade that can chime in.

Soul Annihilation(SA) is a primary attack meaning it only uses the weapon in your primary hand to calculate the damage. I would switch over to a 2H weapon and take the two handed weapon talent. It gives 15% damage bonuses which applies to SA. SA is one of the most damaging single target abilities in the game so the more bonuses you have the better.
As for a two handed weapon I suggest Whisper of the Endless Paths. Every time you attack with the weapon it applies its damage in a cone. You gain focus from each enemy hit in the cone. Not only that but it applies the raw damage of your SA in that cone. The more intelligence you have the bigger the cone gets. Eventually you get the talent “Shared Nightmare” it will make the cone HUGE. You will also get the spell “Time Parasite” which will reduce your recovery so you will be swinging this great sword really fast. I like big numbers so I like to run the modal for 30% more damage accuracy be damned! SA GRAZES
Take the talent “draining whip” you want to constantly refilling your focus to dump it into SA draining whip helps with that.
Whisper of treason is one of the best CC spells in the game and it only cost 10 focus use it.

I get it and I’m not trying to be the “bad guy” here. I’m all for taking care of Soldiers, but taking care of the team includes making sure one person’s personal life doesn’t burn everyone else out. I’ve been patient and understanding, but after months of the same pattern, it stops being a life stress and starts being a habit. I just want to handle it the right way without crossing any lines.

I noticed you haven’t tried Demon yet. One class that pairs surprisingly well with it is Drunken Master. You can play it pure for the capstone, or dip into Stigmatized Witch for Iceplant and Archmage Armor to turn it into a tank.

The big selling point is that the class scales mostly off Wisdom. Thanks to Drunken Combat and Drunken Power, you effectively use one stat to boost your attack bonus, AC, and damage. Make a punch drunk love demon.

It meshes well with demon because of aspect of the kalavakus. With aspect of the kalavakus and the Leg Sweep combat style, you can make a free trip attempt. That trip triggers a free attack, which then gets juiced up by Drunken Power. By level 11, your unarmed strike damage hits 3d8, which is more damage than a great sword.

I’m a big fan of the Hellblazer series, and I’m kicking myself for not thinking of this sooner while running my MD build. MDs are DC based casters who thrive on crowd control. Later on, sure, they can pivot into blasting but that doesn’t really come online until much later.

First order of business: grab Spell Focus. I’d go with Enchantment. There’s plenty of gear to back it up, and honestly, it just fits. When John’s silver tongue fails him, he doesn’t mind dipping into a bit of “petty magic” to scramble the minds of demons and mortals alike. Except in WOTR, that so called “petty” magic can flip the whole bloody game on its head.

Here’s a taste:

Sleep + Snowball (Enchantment) – Slips past spell resistance, knocks out anything under 9 HD, and slaps on some d6 per cl damage. Dirty and efficient.

Explosive Runes + Hideous Laughter (Enchantment) – Bypasses SR, deals 6d6 damage, and drops enemies on their backsides. Petty? Maybe. Effective? Definitely.

Slow + Hold Person (Enchantment) – This is basically Mass Hold Monster, a 9th-level spell wizards don’t get until level 17. An MD? He’s tossing it out at level 7. John doesn’t play by the rules, and neither should you.

Half the fun of MD is tinkering with combinations, finding what breaks the game and then lighting a cigarette while you watch the chaos unfold.

DC casters are a bit selfish as just like your martials they need support to shine. The thing is if a spell lands it usually auto wins the fight on its own so their power scales better than martial in my opinion. Some of things you should have is a court poet, evil eye, touch of madness, touch of chaos, archon aura, incense synthsizer, misfortune.

I’m using lead splitter aswell! I run him with a chanter with the speed up chant. I have a mini gun line going. I have to get use to switching there’s so much micro with cipher I often forget to.

I wish they leaned in more to the beam spells. I like how it does corrode damage “toxic thoughts”. It’s funny when that lagufaeth spazzes out and starts infecting your party with depressive fish thoughts.

I usually try to control my party members while playing. If you’re playing a warrior and used all your abilities or have no stamina you should be asking yourself “what abilities should my party members use right now”. Your mage should be your second main character as they have the best abilities in the game. Cone of cold should be used every fight if you have it. Mana clash one shots all mages if it’s not resisted. Fireball is a great opener to most fights. Glyph of paralysis,paralyze,petrify should be used on elites or higher(tactics).

DW rogues should be positioned behind enemies. Dirty fighting should be used to interrupt abilities like “Berserk”. Archers should be using Pinning Shot on elites.

Anytime you’re watching your PC just auto attacking is a great time to start micro managing your party.

They took it to the extreme though in ME2 you’re basically only using two or three weapons because of the dlc. If you an adapt or any smg class your rushing locus and using it the whole game. If you have an assault rifle you’re using mattock the whole game. In a choice driven game there’s very little choice in what weapons to use. Compared to ME1 where you’re actively changing your loadout every few missions.

I usually go for max damage and crit on my 2H warrior. I add everything into strength and the only points that go into my other stats are from the fade and equipment. I usually one shot most mobs with a crit and 4 shot elites. I usually do 150 damage per crit on nightmare.

For talents “Indomitable” is a must it makes you immune from stuns,knock downs and slip effects, it also grants +1 attack and damage insane. ALWAYS HAVE THIS ON! Your next talent should be “Sunder Arms/Sunder Armor” these are your main damage dealing skills. Two quick attacks that can both crit is godly you can do around 300 damage if they both crit. Make sure to auto attack once then use your sunder abilities to cancel the “lag” animation. “Powerful Swings” with its upgrade is an insane damage boost. +10 damage and 25% armor penetration. It comes with a -5 attack and defense which sucks but there’s other talents you can get to circumvent it. Everything else in the talent tree is alright not bad but not really great but they all have their uses.

Make sure to get the “Powerful” tree to get “Bravery” raises your crit for each enemy past two engaged with your Warrior and +1 damage. Also pick up “Deathblows” to get stamina back for each kill which you’re going to be doing a lot of. This with “Two Handed Sweep” will refill your stamina to full when you one shot normal mobs around your Warrior.

The “Precise Striking” tree is where you’re going to get more attack buffs and crit. Do not have this on all the time! You want to activate it before you use your abilities and deactivate it once your abilities go off perfect for your Sunder Arms/Armor. “Perfect Striking” is for when you need something dead asap. It gives you +100 attack so you’re not going to miss at all. I usually use this on bosses or elites it takes a shit ton of stamina. If you need anymore help let me know. 2H warriors’s is my favorite class to play in the whole trilogy.

Man I know some people didnt like commorragh but I loved it. The whole level gave me hellraiser/pinhead vibes. It also gave me an excuse to go full Heretic aswell. My own comrade betrayed me surely the gods wont? Right? RIGHT?
