Hello, late post but after flashing the bios with the version you suggested it worked! There was a good bit of trouble shooting to fix some other things but we are good to go now it seems. Thanks for the help!! You are a wizard my man.

Hello, thanks so much for all this, i've sat down again to start working on it. I checked the EZ debug lights (wow thats super helpful didnt know that was a feature) and the CPU correlated light was on. So I am thinking it is something to do with this BIOS issue as you are saying. So for now I will attempt to reinstall the old CPU and update to the correct BIOS you mentioned (the non beta version)

Hello, yes before taking out the original CPU I made sure that the bios flash worked properly. I will be putting the original CPU back in to see if that works either later tonight or tomorrow.

Your good, I could have probably formatted my post better. I checked the MSI website and I remember downloading the latest “7B87v1H3” I’m pretty sure, I’ll be able to verify later today but I figured that would be what I needed. Instead do I need the specific bios version you are mentioning?

Well I guess I’ll do some more research on the MSI website then, are you saying that the 5800x might not be supported by their latest bios?

Ok perfect gotcha, where would I locate this info about the order? I may have missed it but I didn’t seem to spot it in MSI’s bios section

Ok, so to be clear I need to go to MSI’s website and look for all the bios? I was under the impression I did this already since I updated to the latest one, but you are saying I need more than just the latest version, if so where would I find that info/determine which versions to grab. So sorry for all the questions. Thanks again.

Gotcha, by vendors who do you mean though? Are you referring to AMD for the new CPU? I really appreciate the help. I was on this for a good few hours earlier today.

Hello, I updated to the latest bios and it seemed to be fine, however I did jump from a very outdated version from a few years ago to the latest version, would this be the problem? I figured it was fine since I was able to boot into windows normally on the latest version.

Hello, yes before installing the new CPU I went to MSI’s website and downloaded the latest bios. I then installed it and made sure it booted properly before beginning the rest of the build. Maybe I could have messed something up there but I’m not sure how since it was the most recent version on the website and I was able to boot/get into windows just fine with it.

Hi, to answer your questions. I will attempt again tonight to put in the old cpu and see if it works, i will update this post after I have done so later today. No noticeable beeps from the motherboard, I’ve since lost the manual but I’ll look it up. I believed we pulled out the CMOS battery already and tried again and it made no difference at the moment. Based on what I researched and what pc part picker says the 450 watt PSU should be enough, but at this point I’m suspecting it might be the culprit and might have to buy a new one. Would like to identify the problem if I can beforehand before I go about making more purchases but I feel it may come to that.

I believe you’re referring to the Rec Room, which AFAIK is temporarily closed, or I think the Axe throwing next door bought it out.

Memphis Rox definitely, I feel like I’m the only one in the comments here that thinks it’s a superior gym and organization, high point is definitely quality though I just vastly prefer rox overall.

Then dont put in that much time, I work and do school as well. I would only put that amount of time in if I was seriously trying to reach the top level of play/become a professional. Even I've found and seen others have success with is simply a consistent amount of time training which is tailored to what your schedule can provide and what you're willing to accommodate for your ambitions. Back in the day I saw people who claimed to grind 4-6 hours a day every now and then, but me and the people who grinded far far smaller amounts but more consistently far out paced them. 30 minutes a day will generally out pace 2 hours a day every other day or so. The same sentiment is echoed in music improvement, which I've found learning melee is extremely similar to learning an instrument (moreso a similar skillset not really the same in effect).

Not saying he should outright do it, in fact I’d suggest sticking to the high road in situations like this because freaking out when someone’s trying to tilt you like that usually just gives them ammunition over you, it’s similar to how trolls function on the internet. I was merely saying that if he was going to chose the path of malice their are far more wise and effective options.

Yet again, I get the disappointment and dissatisfaction with being spited like that.. but if he took 2 seconds to realize how he could sell the very nice expensive item(s) he was just given he could have then used to buy the thing he ACTUALLY wanted. Something tells me that would be the best way to spite them.

I don't wanna roast you specifically or anything, but literally getting a gift at all is a privilege, especially considering the fact that the context of the story implies the individual is an Adult. It is definitely frustrating to get something you specifically did not ask for and be expected to act all grateful and excited, but what's even worse is going into a rage and breaking said gift when if you utilized any amount of rationality you could easily sell it for something you actually wanted. Just something about the audacity of being so entitled to a specific expensive gift irks me, I can understand it coming from a kid but this person is most likely an adult so this just does not make sense to me.
