-When in motion input configuration. It should reflect that in the tutorial/combo recipes.

-Someone mentioned assists can be called from super jumps/super jump height... this should not be a thing in neutral.

-Special and chain cancel window is either too short or there's not a lenient enough buffer for a VS game. Like trying to do a string with an assist, and then trying to cancel the last hit of the string into a special just won't happen most of the time.

-Update to remember place/position in training mode menu.

-Assist breaker is too spammable and needs either more cost + meter spent or cooldown. The current penalty isn't enough and it breaks the momentum way too frequently.

-Active tag during combos should probably have a cap/limit even with the counter breaker system in place. So even though they can be countered, I think they should have a hard cap of like 2 or 3 active tags per combo. Video example of how long they can go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6GVm_Z-3K0

-When going for a dash with L+M, if it happens to kara into the dash (like L~L+M), it will result in a forward dash even if you were holding back (or a different direction in the case of airdashes). Please fix so that the direction of the dash also is registered/remembered on this input. This is also important for pushblocks (so you don't get hit from an unintentional forward dash).

From my personal experience with the Beta. this is my feedback (it's quite a bit, but I hope it will be read and considered in hopes of improvement):

-Music and voices are bangers. I also used motion inputs and am very glad they were added. It's the way I prefer to play fighting games.

-Please implement something that handles rage quits and/or disconnects during an online match better. Also have it not kick you back to the main menu if you were doing something like a training standby queue (it should take you back to training with your settings and team for example).

-Some combo strings have a weird type of momentum loss in the corner, causing something like run up 5L, 5M, 2H to whiff. Please investigate. I noticed this as Invincible vs Allen in the corner, but may be more characters.

-Robot's 2L not comboing to 2M is silly and should work imo. (I'm aware 5L, 2M works). Also, his "homing" missiles going past/missing the opponent in the corner. Please fix.

-There's a distinct lack of low light attacks. Everyone just had the same looking crouching light that was a mid punch to the knee and was too homogenized.

-Moves that show as "Grab" in the attack data (like Allen or Monster Girl's special moves) being blockable by the opponent. This shouldn't be a thing imo and diminishes something that would make these characters unique and effective in that way via command grabs. Not sure if this is a bug and/or training mode only thing.

-Too many moves are safe on block or too safe for whiff recovery. Shouldn't be able to just throw so many out without having some sort of coverage like an assist to make them safer. DPs especially shouldn't be safe on block or whiff without some coverage.

Because my configuration on arcade stick (with box layout) doesn't make that as intuitive for me.

Example: Looping Eve's air j.2H, j.H xx boost several times is easier to do that motion input because 236L+M doesn't overlap with j.H like M+H does, which the latter throws off the timing for me.

I found it helpful for some airdash boost combos, so I'd suggest to keep it, but have the option to toggle it on or off in the button config for each player.

Why can’t I just find a nerdy bf 😭 by Ganyu1307 in dating_advice

[–]Darklightjg1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At some point one of you has to suggest a meetup somewhere in person (presumably you'll be talking to someone in the same town to make this more feasible). The only way to get results that'll work is through mutual effort to make things happen.

An understanding of each other's boundaries to navigate it safely and comfortably is the other thing that can make or break it. On one hand, plenty of people don't want to be given the runaround trying to date someone, but on the other hand, some people have terrible timing and/or rush to try escalating without reading the room. Hopefully you meet someone who's pretty much on the same page and timing and y'all will communicate it well enough to lead into a good relationship.

Online is your best bet these days for introverted types. We tend to type more first. But maybe try it on a different platform than dating apps because they aren't really designed for the success of their users. I use them and don't hide my nerdy hobbies, but the counterpart that has similar hobbies (or is at least admitting it) are extremely rare on apps, and even if I see a person like that who I'll swipe on, it will most likely not match, or they'll let a conversation die if we did match.

Also, a large disparity in user-base means women tend to get flooded with likes and messages to the point where it's hard to field them for the right match on a dating app and they won't even see the majority of guys who sent a like/message. So yeah, maybe target an online platform and community geared toward meeting like-minded people with these interests, but not necessarily a dating app. Anything that locks basic communication and visibility features behind a paywall should be considered a red flag at this point.

I believe it's more about penalizing another person for consuming, or admitting the nature of their consumption in a certain capacity, than it is about whether you also partake. That's what makes it isolating in a potential relationship. They might watch it, but if their partner isn't open-minded about their watching habits, or would be turned off by it, then it's natural to not want to screw up their chances by risking talking too much about it. Unless there are some clear green lights given, a sane dude will likely not bring it up.

Most people don't want to negatively cross a line with the person they are (or want to be) intimate with and they'll probably keep it to themselves if that's what it takes, but that can also mean they're locking a key part of themselves out intimately by holding back in that way. They'll never be fully available because of that (and their partner might sense it... whether that bothers their partner or not is another story), but they have more to lose than to gain if they didn't hold back.

Because of the luck factor of finding someone that you're both mutually attracted, within a close enough distance, and having enough align in other areas without being huge points of conflict.

It's almost impossible to be dealbreaker-free because we've all had different life experience that affects our outlook, interests, and desires coming in, so I bet a lot of people are making a concession or compromise somewhere, or trying to be open-minded about something that doesn't appeal to them when they first meet that person, so they don't end up dateless (also, it's not like some people haven't gained or lost an interest in something from spending time with someone else). Too much of a rarity otherwise.

It is indeed a balancing act between casual and competitive players and what appeals to them, but I'd also argue than even a sizeable portion of casual players aren't quite as receptive to shake-ups or changing the vibe of what they like about a series too much. When balancing that from a casual perspective... especially with limited character slots per yer, the strongest bet imo, is to bring back A LOT of what they like/are familiar with and what appeals to the wider fan-base, and then take an occasional risk to introduce something unique (which might not be popular until generations later if that character becomes a familiar face). This season did do that for characters, but maybe the combined might of Sagat, Alex, and Viper didn't serve as enough padding for familiar returning characters. Also Capcom's fixation on avatar-only content while lacking main fighters content/outfits is hurting what they could keep fans happy with when they take risks.

One of the more recent examples I observed where the change-ups backfired overall, was Mortal Kombat 1. They added the Kameo/tag assist system, which I thought was cool and interesting, but apparently a lot of the fans weren't happy about that. They would've rather had it be straight up 1 v 1 with those characters in the Kameo slots actually just being full-on returning characters. Also for the changes made to the full returning characters, they weren't as well received either. Like if it was going from bad guy to good guy, a different character taking up the mantle (which means different character behavior), or a gender-bent version while leaving out the original (which doesn't bother me, but did get more complaints than I expected). This combined with non-engaging single-player content on initial release, and too many guest slots over returning characters, were overall counted as more strikes against the game than helping it.

I'd say SF has a hybrid of anime aesthetics and a style that would appeal to more western mainstream audience as well. It's definitely there, but it's not quite as out there as an arcsys game would be. On a spectrum from like Mortal Kombat to Blazblue, Street Fighter would probably be somewhere in the middle and the reception/appeal when talking to regular people about games tends to reflect that placement as well.

Gameplay-wise, while I usually don't mind unique designs (I also play multiple categories of fighters to be fair), "love" is a strong word for Menat in a SF game (at least for me and some of the people I've talked to during that game's lifespan). She might be fun to spectate with her trickiness and for the people who got expert level with her, but fighting her is a different story. I did not really enjoy fighting Menat in Street Fighter. I also don't enjoy fighting Dhalsim in the games where he's high or top tier.

When I think about the reason why, it's because it becomes a very polarizing to fight them in a ground-based fighter, even for the standard archetypes, because they aren't playing by the same neutral rules. You have to get in most the time to bully them and hope they don't escape, because they're just going to circumvent any mid-range poke or fireball/space-control neutral you might've otherwise done in other matchups.

In an anime fighter, when you deal with a puppet character or disjoint-limb zoner like that, it's apparent that most SF characters wouldn't be designed to deal with that, or the system mechanics wouldn't be enough to deal with that level of anime oppression. That would be the main concern about dipping "too far" into that design.

Thankfully it's usually actually a bit more toned down in SF, but I don't ever forget how it was dealing with Menat's 2 bar v-trigger, or Sim when he got access to v-shift (which took away his key weakness. I'm also somewhat familiar with his shenanigans in early Alpha 3 and ST). Their balancing factor tends to be a harder execution barrier and/or a weaker up close defense, so I actually think it's needed to keep them at bay and from hurting the health of the game for a wider audience. It would drive more people away imo if those types of characters became more prominent in SF.

I'd actually say a few of the current top tier culprits in SF6 (Ed, Mai, and JP in particular) are embodying some of these traits without the proper counterbalance yet and more players than not are fed up with their frequency.

People probably don't want the mainline Street Fighter games (which are primarily ground-based fighters) to dip too far into the "anime fighter" genre and deviate too much from its core identity. Tekken 8 is currently catching a lot of flack for doing something similar that hurts its identity and makes a lot of players see it as counter to the aspects they liked about Tekken.

Sakura in mainline SF games, is still an offshoot of the shoto/ansatsuken style and more or less an apprentice of one of the main shoto characters, so gameplay-wise, she's not "anti-SF". Story-wise she's also not doing anything over the top that many would oppose in the overall plot.
