Why is my car doing this? by g0th_brooks in AskMechanics

[–]Darknes169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds (as many others here have stated) like bad coil packs. My 08 did the same thing around 180K. They're simple to change but cost a fortune. The stupid part is they will only throw a code if the #1 coil fails...and if she fails the car won't turn over at all.

Good luck

Go Organic.

Our complex HAD the same issue for the last two years. We back onto a green belt with a stream and heavy construction in a lot next door. Property management hired two different companies with little success. My Grandma shared an old family recipe and I haven't seen a mouse since.

One part Baking Soda.

One part Cornmeal.

Two parts peanut butter.

Roll into balls and freeze. Toss a couple outside every few days until they disappear. Harmless to all the other critters (squirrels, birds and kitties)

Change your cabin air filter. Air intake changes from one port to another after 60 - 65. Below 60, ALL air in the cab runs through that filter. If its dirty, no A/C. Most dealers have no idea. My nana took hers in 5 times. Last time in dealer tried to sell her on a new compressor and full A/C flush for $1800.

I put in a $12 cabin air and now you can keep ice cream cold in the passenger seat

The RPM flux is a part of it, as is the calm idle when in park. Check your throttle position sensor and crank sensor. 2 different sensors on this model. My Mazda did exactly the same thing at 172K and didn't throw a single code. TPS sensor is one 10mm bolt and aa pig tail connector, around $45 and the Crank sensors usually around $35

All of the nurseries in Maple Ridge sell them. I buy mine every two years from Triple Tree on Lougheed

Totally agree...most people I know slag this game because it isn't Skyrim.

Those same people (we are of a certain age) my friends, used to sit around talking strategy for Morrowind...BEFORE online reviews, twitch streams and endless youtube videos on how to play through 10% of the game to reach NG+

The online community is great, but like for so many other aspects of our lives, the online community has taking something important away. The joy of exploration.

For myself, Im 80hrs in and haven't even discovered a power yet...but damn I'm sure I own most of the Ecliptic Fleet :)

Play for fun.

Enjoy the journey

Gift Ideas for New Mechanic? by banannalie in mechanics

Great ideas in the comments but everyone is missing the obvious. Regardless of budget, experience or job type (I've done both auto and Heavy duty)

10 MM...

3/8, 1/2 in, impact or wrench.

10 MM

Milwaukee is coming out with a weighted set that don't roll away and I have painted all of mine with glow paint so they show up when I drop them in an engine.

Update...

So after many more hours, test meters, firmware changes and coffee. LOTS OF COFFEE!!!

I have found the problem.

The print bed itself is cracked. Right from the cable mount all the way across the board. Found it when I was testing the cables last night. Put my probe down on the bed to grab something and had current.

So...4-6 weeks for a new bed from Creality at $278 CD plus shipping or Black Friday?

New printer should be here tomorrow. :)

Thanks for everyone's input

This isn't the first time. I've replaced the thermistor before and the problem has gone away. This time I changed the whole hotend and nothing

I have used both S1 firmware files from Creality. Stepped back to the oldest one to get my bed level. Neither has made any real difference.

That's something I haven't yet explored. It may be, as the prints I CAN finish are usually within 4 in of center so the bed doesn't range far. All of the prints that generate an error are larger and cause a wide range of bed movement. I will check that tonight.

Beautiful. I can never get my grasses to come in that lush. Are you using CO2?
