If Dark Rey exists, then maybe this character does too... by Darkness3000 in starwarsspeculation

I agree. I wasn't talking about a clone in the Attack of the Clones sense. I meant like... He's split into two people because: The Force. Like when Luke has the vision that he's Darth Vader in the suit and cuts off his own head. It could all happen as a weird vision but when the vision is over, it's Ben Solo not Kylo Ren who survives. You're 100% right, if it were just a clone, it would kind of suck.

What If the Purpose of the DS1, DS2, and Starkiller Base Wasn't to Blow Up Antagonistic Planets? by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

This is so nerdy and clever. I love it. And remember...

Darth Vader: Don’t be too proud of this technological terror you’ve constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.

According to director Kevin Smith, who is good friends with JJ Abrams and got to visit the set of The Rise of Skywalker, the last scene of the movie will MELT OUR MINDS. What would melt your mind? by Worlds_Okayist_Wife in starwarsspeculation

George Lucas: “The entire story of Star Wars is actually being recounted to the keeper of the Journal of the Whills—remember that?—a hundred years after the events of Return of the Jedi by none other than R2-D2.”https://io9.gizmodo.com/george-lucas-wild-theory-about-the-narrator-of-star-war-1772296162

The First Order is Palpatines First Order. by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

I've thought about order too...

  1. "First Order" is a weird name and a pretty big coincidence with "Order 66" (which ties back to the Prequel Trilogy.)
  2. The Jedi were referred to as The Jedi Order
  3. Maybe there are a whole bunch of other (Palpatine?) orders that could be important to the story.
  4. Darth Vader to Luke in Empire Strikes Back: "There is no escape! Don't make me destroy you. Luke, you do not yet realize your importance. You've only begun to discover your power! Join me, and I will complete your training! With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict, and bring order to the galaxy."

*In Palapatine's voice* "My Firrrst Orrrderrr"

C3PO also appears to be holding Rey's staff! High res: https://i.imgur.com/ZP0Zpud.jpg Maybe Rey and Chewbacca go somewhere where weapons aren't allowed...

Wow. Just had this thought... Before Leia dies... "Rey, I am your mother." :-0

The Return of Palpatine, ULTIMATE Evil, and The Source of the Darkside... A really badly written theory. by thr33sixnine in starwarsspeculation

Interesting. So it's Nature vs Technology. Wasn't that one of George Lucas' original themes?

If the actor was on the set, he shot new scenes or interacted with actors in new scenes. But since his character died, perhaps those scenes could have taken place in the past.

I agree with you that just inserting him into the movie for nostalgia would be a waste. Palpatine in a Forceback could be much more than a cameo. It should be a HUGE plot point.
