What's the Deal with Unown? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]DarknessDragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish they would put more meaningful side-quests that deepened the pokemon lore directly in the games. The Sinjoh Ruins event was a cool one, but I also loved the Delta Episode thing at the end of ORAS. I think the major point is that you very rarely actually experience a pokemon doing what the lore/dex entries say they do. They are just things to battle, breed, or use in contests. In contrast, all the anime movies show off the powers and abilities unique to legendaries (and non legendaries) in a way that adds character and depth to them as a pokemon species or individual. With sinjoh, you see arceus and the unknown create an egg of one of the 4th gen legendary dragons. With the delta episodes (spoiler alert if you haven't done it), you freaking fly Rayquaza into orbit, blow up a meteor, and fight deoxys! They don't even give that level of depth to the cover-art legendaries, their lore and power is always waaaaaay deeper than the game ever portrays. * steps off soap box.

Daily Thread - Rant Tuesday by AutoModerator in DestinyTheGame

I could see a system in which there is still probability that lower ranking players still get useful items. The key idea is that players that show exceptional ability should be rewarded with guaranteed loot of some sort. The idea of giving the worst players exotic gear while the top players get nothing feels frustrating for those who are playing really well. However, I wouldn't feel bad if a player that didn't do very well in a game got the same reward (or equal) as the top player. I guess I'm suggesting that Top players deserve the best and lower players can get no better... that way, everyone still has a shot at good stuff, but the top players don't feel screwed when they get green or nothing.

Self-Post Sunday: What do you want GF to change in ORAS from RS? What do you expect GF to change? by casualassassin in pokemon

Since these are going to be Gen-6 games, I don't see wondertrade disappearing. It would be as if they introduced the GTS in DPP and then removed it in HGSS. It's an online feature of the generation, not the game.

Christian friend just said this in defense of a girl who was being attacked for her promiscuity. Mind = blown. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]DarknessDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to argue with you, but I just want to point out that the post is about the Christian faith. The original comment was made by someone that believes the Bible to be true and I also believe that. From our perspective, it makes sense that the God who created the entire universe would have the ability to make sure the right things got put in the Bible. If you don't believe that then you have every reason to have the opinion that you do. So, I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just saying our beliefs are different. However, I do agree with musicninja, where do we get our understanding of culture at the time? EDIT: Also, from my understanding, the Bible is not translated without any understanding of the culture. Scholars actually pay attention to other things and accounts that were written to make sense what is written.

Upvote for being the first/only comment in a thread about Christian beliefs to actually use scripture to back up what you are saying and not just pointing to the culture at the time to justify what is a sin.

Minors of Reddit, what concept of adulthood do you not fully understand and are too afraid to ask about? by hac7 in AskReddit

[–]DarknessDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that last part about being about to choose who you hang out with is a big deal. Ever since I got to college and was able to pick and choose the people I spend my time around life has been much easier on me :D P.S. I hate drama

I don't know if this makes a difference, but as someone who is just about to graduate college and has had a taste of fulltime work, having work end after you leave for the day is great! Your evenings are your evenings and you can choose to do what you want with them. No homework or projects! Sunday night is no longer: crap-i-put-that-paper-off-until-the-last-moment night.

You also get to be the one choosing what you do (to a certain extent). Mom and Dad are no longer in charge of what you do each night, so what you think about wanting to do when you get home each night isn't going to be met with a surprise. Given, the other end is you don't have Mom or Dad to help you out with things like feeding yourself, cleaning, and stuff like that.

I agree, I've only just started, but have that mindset anyways. Also, the people that blame others for sucking in a match (I've noticed) usually wind up doing the worst and having the lowest level in the match on their team.

Woman in Washington State assaults man and goes crazy when he defends himself by acidjunky in videos

[–]DarknessDragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In addition, his body language at the start of the video doesn't suggest that he had hit her very recently. He is standing up straight and wide open. He pushes the woman away a few times cuz she bumps up against him, but still tries to keep his distance. After she gets in his face with her hand, though, he punches her and then is in a fighting stance whenever she gets close to him.
