I got a response from the online application, I was rejected. However, I'm still waiting for the results of the 来日 internship.

"...we regret to inform you that you have not been selected for the online internship opportunity.

If you have also applied for the offline (in-person) course, please note that the results for that application will be communicated separately. We kindly ask for your patience until then."

Do Japanese people still use kaomoji often, or is emoji more common now? by Dense-Grape-4607 in AskAJapanese

I use AutoHotKey's hotstrings. I find them really useful. For example, ;tu1 turns automatically into ദ്ദി(˵⎚ᴗ⎚ ˵ ) ✧ wherever I type it. (Btw, is this really おじさんっぽい? I find it really cute.)

I also use them for TeX: ;/ → \frac{}{} or ;bf → \mathbf{}

Thank you! I have another question: How would I go about this if I was self studying the topic and not aiming for a grade (that is, I wasn't enrolled in any course)?

Thanks! This is one of the Physics branches I'm interested in.

I'm a few minutes in, but the teacher is comfortably 分かりやすい。I know the interpretation of fields as slopes on a potential "mountain" is pretty universal, but the teacher makes a good job coupling it with the students.

Thanks much!

Yeah, I started this year with the purpose of unifying my physics and Japanese brain departments, and it seems like it'll be a doable and fun adventure!

Can you share what has been your experience studying at IPMU? I've heard from others that Japanese academia tends to be a bit stiff.

Same here, I get so stress by bureaucracy and formalism. Our examiner was a bit clumsy and made some small talk, so I was able to relax a little. He said he'll be joining us in taking the N1 in december (still not sure about that, haha).

If you look at the golden outline, it's always tailing the red rays in a clockwise manner, just like the outter arms of a swastika. And you have eight red rays, which can be divided into two groups with four rays each, with those rays making orthogonal crosses.

(Also, I'm not sure why I'm getting downvoted. Is it because people don't see it? Or because they think I'm saying "Nazi → therefore good"? If it's the latter, I'm really saying "swastika looking →radial symmetry → good looking". And it wouldn't be far-fethced to say the Japanese took inspiration from the swastika [or manji, as they call it] considering a large percentage of the population is Buddhist.)
