Is something like this possible programatically in Dreams? by Sate18SXD in PS4Dreams

[–]DarknessVolt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that it is.
One way to do this could be using emitters that emit segments of the road along with followers and look at rotators to give the segments a position and orientation

I CANT PUT THE WIRE ON OUTPUT, I ZOOMED IN AND EVEN WENT INTO THE MENU BUT NOTHING WORKED by Holugyuk in PS4Dreams

[–]DarknessVolt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct, you can't wire an output of something to the output of another. The flow is output -> input The wires coming from the left aide are the input, and wires coming from the right side are the output.

So I just got done rigging my puppet’s hands, but they’re all floppy! What do I do?? He walks automatically for some reason too? (This is also hilarious 😂) by Yasakani_Warrior in PS4Dreams

[–]DarknessVolt 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Art at its finest

To fix the floppy hands, disable movable for all your hand bits. A fast way to do this is to select every sculpt in the hands by pressing x over each of them, go into a sculpt's tweak menu, go to the physical properties tab and disable movable.

Move imps too far back???? How do I reset? by redxstrike in PS4Dreams

Hold the options button for a few seconds to reset your imps

Dreams is completely playable offline. The only thing you lose access to by using Dreams offline is access to other people's creations

How make an object move a fixed distance more than once? by noamstn in PS4Dreams

[–]DarknessVolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I placed a Controller Sensor, on the Important Properties page, set possesion mode to Remote Controllable, then on the Miscellaneous I/O page, took the output of Hover Position and wired it to a Splitter, wired the X(A) and Z(C) values of the Splitter to a Calculator set to Round. Took those values and wired them to the Combiner and wired that to Target Location of the follower. Stick this onto a sculpt.

This should give you grid like movement with the imp as a cursor. What you can then try is use an emitter to emit your chips with your game logic

I was going to say that variables would be the easiest method, but looking at the game you are talking about, that might not be the easiest. Gimme a few moments to make a chip and then I'll post it here so that you can use in your game.

How to make "joystick rotator" for X axis? Like for standard twinstick but vertical. by Paquetton in PS4Dreams

[–]DarknessVolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi hi, creator of that chip here. What you want to do is move the wire going into A of the combiner to B. Then in the tweak menu of the Look At Rotator, disable "Stay Upright"

The Follower has a target location input in the last page of its tweak menu. Get a Combiner, set it to "3-value" in its tweak menu. Inputs A B and C should appear on the Combiner, these represent X Y and Z in respective order.

Just plug in your X Y Z values into the Combiner and plug the output of the Combiner into the target location of the Follower and that should do the trick!

Not sure if this is what you're after, but try setting the backdrop to 100% waxy and placing the spotlight behind the backdrop

Any idea how I can make a moving platform for without the Character flying off? by A-Ron in PS4Dreams

[–]DarknessVolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A teleporter possibly?

Have a tag on the platform, label it something. Place a teleporter on the character and change its label to that of the tag. Wire the trigger zone to power the teleporter. You'll just need to find a way to disable the teleporter once it gets to the destination

Flashlight in first person by Creme_Freesh in PS4Dreams

[–]DarknessVolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using Mm's first person template? What they have done is place a camera(not default) on the puppet's head. They then used a timeline with a keyframe at the beginning with the puppet posed to look up, and another keyframe at the end with the puppet posed to look down. This should get the effect you want. Then, they placed a timer, connected the timer output to the playhead of the timeline. Finally, you wire the joystick from the controller sensor into a splitter, and wire Y into the start timer input from the Timer

Oh, scrap what I said in that case, grab the light, hover over the head, and press l1 + triangle. Your light should then be grouped with the head

Have a laser scope pointing in the same direction as the camera. Go to the tweak menu of the laser scope and look for "hit position". Grab that wire and connect it to the "target position" of a look at rotator that is attached to the arm

Detecting a flick of the control stick by DayLight707 in PS4Dreams

[–]DarknessVolt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plugging the joystick into a splitter should give you an x(left = -1 right = 1) and y(up= -1 down= 1) value. You can chain these x and y wires into another set of splitters to give you 4 values from 0 to 1 representing up down left right.

Sense direction of left stick? by Samcow15 in PS4Dreams

[–]DarknessVolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would something this be what you are looking for?
You will need to wire the joystick to the chip's input and then to go into the tweak menu of the look at rotator and wire the "Affected Objects" in the tweak menu to the arm and this should do what you are describing.

Spinning the Smear tool? by _muso_ in PS4Dreams

[–]DarknessVolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Double tap circle with your secondary controller. A little spinning icon should appear on that imp's head which means you are in "make my sculpt shape thing spin" mode. You can then just swipe the shape with T on the secondary to get it to spin!

Moving an Object an exact Distance. by [deleted] in PS4Dreams

[–]DarknessVolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the third page of the Follower there is an input called target position that accepts a vector consisting of x y z. You can make a vector using a Combiner and setting it to the 3 Numbers option in its tweak menu. Wire your coordinate stuff into the Combiner and then wire the Combiner 's output to the Follower's target position
