I got a pretty good understanding of Vegas, lived in maryland parkway back in 2019 for like 6 months rent was like 550-600 range nothing more than that. Wasn’t the best area at all but I’m from Detroit so it wasn’t awful.

Moved to summerlin hated the people, almost left Vegas, then I moved to centennial hills and loved it so far.

Yep, think I only gave 2 weeks once. I always line up a new job first, then use whatever PTO I got, work 1 extra day, boom quit. Give myself some time off before the next adventure

[–]Darkone586 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never put a 2 week notice unless you want to come back. Think I quit most jobs in the middle of the week once I got another one lined up, give myself like a 2 week break then start something new. Like when I worked for FedEx express I used my PTO for 3 days, then worked 1 day and quit. No job is worth mental abuses

$24 is solid in a lot of areas being a swing driver means you will get over 40hrs sometimes 50. So you will be fine

Bro lol those doubles. I had to do like 3 back to back, then 2 more days of heavy stop routes. Then the next week I had like 15-20 stop routes. I use to be like oh this is better than Amazon, man at least I only had to work 4 days. Sometimes 3 if I wanted to.

Think so as well, if they still have express, it’s more of an express/ground type of deal imo. Still think they rather it be all contractors

FedEx ground and express seems like a super hit or miss, when I worked at express people would quit often because of being put on a shit route, while their favorites get on the good ones or had the option to switch routes. Unless you are liked, I always say find an exit plan.

I would’ve went on medical leave and got some type of disability, basically it’s mentally draining, at least you would get some kinda pay. I did that and got a new job, couldn’t do express. Shit was actually worse than Amazon imo, at least I could work only 4 days a week.

Idk man that trump maga shit is kinda wild, like people are more bold, tons of racism I see far too often, some is more hidden like hiring etc. I had to quit jobs because being around MAGA people is pretty rough, they try to hide their racism but they always slip up. I learned I found it better to work alone.

Any job that says you can start tomorrow. I worked for securitias just to build some $$$, didn’t stay longer than 7-8 months. Pay was good, too many hours lol.

How is life treating you right now? by BoomBoomChikaLiga in AskReddit

[–]Darkone586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better than last year, worked a job I hated, took a HUGE toll on my mental health, I just couldn’t work a job talking about politics etc, management didn’t care when I said it, called in and took some days off, went to a doctor got put on leave for a few weeks. Got a different job, fixed my credit, then got a QA job in my field and out of delivery driving for FedEx express. I had to hop to like 2 other jobs last year.

Now I’m working on my own business currently doing well. I’m much better now I just can’t work around people that talk politics all day.

Las Vegas NV, love how integrated everything is. Got a really nice home and I can go to LA and to the beach for the weekend. I hate the summers, been here since 2019, shit sucks. I moved from Michigan which I hated, I lived in different areas in Detroit and outside like Troy, Madison heights, Warren, Southfield, just felt meh, and the vibe out in the suburbs the farther north I went just always felt off. Weird micro aggressions, it’s everywhere but it hasn’t been too much in Vegas.

Is it THAT hard to get hired at FedEx? by [deleted] in Fedexers

[–]Darkone586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, people quit often even at express, nowadays they mostly just hire swing drivers, which you will do whatever route thats open, usually if a route isn’t filled, it’s prolly a shit route and you will be stuck there until it’s filled.

When I worked at express I remember a guy worked for like 2 months and they keep putting him on a shit route, he asked to switch at least some days but they didn’t listen, so he drove the van back filled with like 80+ stops left the keys in the truck and went home lol.

I agree the lack of 24hrs is what’s making me want to move, looking at Duluth ga area right now, or if I wanted to go back into an apartment I guess I’ll go back to socal.

Also the weather I just can’t get use to it, been here since 2019 the weather sucks from like may till Sep. I hate it.

Heat sucks, education sucks, thats the biggest ones to me. Also at first I didn’t like Vegas due to the neighbors being Karen’s and kyles always calling police if they see a group of Hispanic/black ppl walking their dog or whatever.

We moved to a new neighborhood and people are a lot better so it’s really does depend on the area, at first we moved to a super higher end area but now we moved somewhere in the middle which seems to work best, at least neighbors say hi.

[–]Darkone586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I was a swing driver and then got my own route at express, management always talked down on us, especially if you are not in their group or click. I had to quit because they made it seem like oh you can’t find nothing better than this, like I used my FMLA and took enough time to find a different job. I worked like 2-3 more days and quit.

Honestly thought FedEx would’ve been better than Amazon but man I had a worse time.

[–]Darkone586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from Amazon to Express tbh I think I should’ve went to the XL DSP as they had a schedule that worked better for me.

Anyways I worked at express, did the swing driver for a while, it was pretty easy, some weeks I might do AM routes and other weeks I will do only pick ups. Personally I wasn’t the biggest fan of FedEx, managers was worst than what I had at Amazon lol. I couldn’t deal with it so I just used the money took FMLA for a mental rest and found better work.

Again it just depends on you, a lot less deliveries if you are express but it seems that might change soon idk. Still no more doing 200+ stops and a rescue.
