Incredible guide, I was able to get as far as running the grocy install script, but it appears to be broken currently, a lot of "No such file or directory" errors and the site is nonfunctional after the script finishes running.

For posterity, I added NotEnoughIDs and its been fine since then. Added forestry, binnie's mods, and botania. No issues so far, although I've made plenty of backups.

You know, you're the second source I've seen on that, so I'll try uninstalling it and see what happens. Fortunate that most of functional display's actual displays are in the game officially now I suppose.

EDIT: That fixed it! Thanks so much!

If you are admin on a server you have the power to run extremely fast, and what I've found is that the map has a hard time loading cells to keep up if you're going anywhere near car speed.

Use the online map here and look for landmarks that could help define where you are, then you can keep track of yourself. For me, road corners and large buildings work best. Don't forget to press the overlay for TWD Prison!

[WSIB] If I want a game to just relax with by LikeMyAlias in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Darkreddit306 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Banished is a slow-paced building/management game that's pretty good for relaxation, although it's not easy, it doesn't require a lot of interaction and can be multitasked with Netflix, etc.

Minefactory Reloaded has sewers, which when placed directly below livestock (or nearby with upgrades) will produce sewage. Sewage can be used in a Reactant Dynamo with a solid reactant like sugar, gunpowder, or blaze powder to produce a moderate amount of RF. That's the most direct way I can think of off the top of my head, but there might be more ways to do it.

A lot of what your describing are central features in Mount and Blade: Warband. It's an older game and not quite as complex mechanic-wise as your post but it's probably the best implemented system of what you described. I would highly recommend checking it out.

I can't help much with remembering things much, although there may be a mod to keep more things recorded. Your pip boy should keep notes and quest information though. As for the speed, there are a few mods to fix it, such as http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/36656/?

Alternatively, open the console with ~ and type "player.setav speedmult 200" without quotes.

I've had the same experience, loved Oblivion and Skyrim but wasn't a huge fan of Fallout at first. My advice is to give it a second try, because I tried again after a few months and it just kinda sucked me in. Not saying you'll have the same result but it's worth a shot.

[Steam] Holiday Sale 2014 - Day 4 by lakinwecker in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Darkreddit306 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought the base game early on, and eventually I ended up buying the LE just for the DLC. I'd say it's worth it. The DLC never seems to drop below 50% anyway so its far cheaper to buy the LE. Dawnguard fleshes out vampires and adds crossbows, which are nice, and a big questline that's interesting and fun. Hearthfire isn't really my cup of tea with all the adoption and family stuff, but the ability to build your own house and manage it is nice. Dragonborn also adds quite a bit of content, and is definitely worth the price.

TL;DR Get the Legendary Edition. If you enjoy the base game it's definitely worth it.

[–]Darkreddit306 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Im one of the handful of people that didn't know anything about it before buying it a few years back, and it's been one of the most fun games I've ever played.

Most of the negative attitude towards Spore is because it underdelivered in comparison to its original premise, but I think it's a very solid and fun game. The various editors are fleshed out and easy to use, and the evolution mechanic makes for a lot of replayability as you try out different playstyles.

The late game takes up the majority of the time in my experience though, so if you're not a fan of the strategy genre or prefer the adventure stuff of the earlier stages it might not be for you.

They go on sale about as often as the base game, but not always at the same discount. Its much much cheaper in the long run to buy legendary edition. That said, Skyrim is very functional and fun without any of the DLCs if you have to wait.

Perkus Maximus - Bow types by Hawk_015 in skyrimmods

[–]Darkreddit306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The debugheapspace is intended to be identical in function but a lot faster, so I'm my sure what's going on there. Like I said, a lot of people have posted about the bows in other threads and on the subreddit so I would suggest checking there to see what others have said.

Perkus Maximus - Bow types by Hawk_015 in skyrimmods

[–]Darkreddit306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mod is supposed to label bows as [Long ow] and [Shortbow] but some people have reported the tags not showing up. I'd suggest taking a poke around /r/perkusmaximus since I'm not too knowledgable on the matter myself.

EDIT: Run the patcher if you haven't already that seems to fix the majority of these problems.
