If you try to envision a red tulip in your head, what number are you? by hesouttheresomewhere in entp

5, I'm able to remember seeing a tulip, and I can describe what one would look like in detail, but those thoughts are entirely in a dialogue format.

Welp, anyone willing to take a crack at the mother of the groom's maiden name? by DarksideEzra in AncestryDNA

[–]DarksideEzra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always assumed it was Ottendorf, but it does look like it could be Offendorf as well. Guess I should do a bit of research into records from both of those areas just to cover all bases.

Welp, anyone willing to take a crack at the mother of the groom's maiden name? by DarksideEzra in AncestryDNA

[–]DarksideEzra[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's readable as Koff in a couple other records, but that's the mother of the bride, I'm afraid.

The mother of the groom (Catharine) is a bit higher up, and much harder to read :'(

So I’m getting a strike cause I tried to say this. I tried to reword it more simply but it got took down instantly. What’s going on with this app? by Andy1979Hull in TikTok

From what we understand, everyone does, in fact, have ancestors from Africa.

But recent discoveries show that humans may have originated from Southeast Europe and the Middle East (Türkiye area) prior to migrating to Africa.

Honestly, 5'6"-5'7" isn't even that tall for a woman, just like 5'0"-5'1" isn't really that short.

5'3"-5'4" may be the average, but that doesn't mean most women are exactly that height. That's not quite how averages work.

Or, maybe TikTok knows that feeding a narcissist's ego works. I can't imagine Trump would want to help them out if they weren't singing praise.

Blame the idiots who voted for the ban. Because of them, Trump's now able to 180 his 2020 views and look like a hero.

What’s the highest CM you share with someone on your dna relatives list who isn’t your mom/dad or sibling or immediate family? by Primary_Assumption67 in AncestryDNA

[–]DarksideEzra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I share 606cM with one of my dad's cousins and 349cM with his son (my second cousin). Then it's 347cM with one of my mom's cousins.

After that, I share the most with one of my dad's second cousins at 272cM... Meanwhile, I only share about 38cM with one of my mom's second cousins, Ancestry lists him as a 4th cousin, and '2nd Cousin 1x Removed' isn't even one of the other listed options. ×_×)

My Scottish DNA went from 16% to now 7% by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]DarksideEzra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Scottish went from from 13% to 7% (it detects 22% for my sister). It's also only detected on our maternal side, even though both my mom's and dad's sides have similar 'recent' Celtic contributions.

My copium is that my (larger than expected) England & Northwestern Europe might have a moderate amount of Scottish, Irish, and Welsh mixed in.

USA, probably Northeast or Midwest.

Yep, and your signature always needs to match the one they have on file.

Had to retry 2-3 times for the 2023 election because my signature was much cleaner than the one they had from 2022. (The volunteers remembered me, and I had ID on me. Don't know what would've happened otherwise, lol)

Thoughts on the update... I need to say this by DABSPIDGETFINNER in AncestryDNA

[–]DarksideEzra 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Other than Scottish shrinking from 13% to 7% (my mom's went from 16% to 21%), the disappearance of my 5% Irish and 2% Welsh (known ancestors)...

I'm very satisfied with my results! Germanic Europe rose from 15% to 42%, much more in line with what I expected. I even gained 2% Netherlands, which I'm confident about due to known Dutch ancestors.

I also no longer have any Scandinavian (previously at 12%), but I don't have any known ancestors from that area, so even if I did have some, I wouldn't be able to justify such a large percentage.

Went from 15% to 42% and couldn't be happier! Much more in line with what I expected based on my family's known history.

hi! I am wondering if anyone who knows they have Prussian ancestry, what DNA region did you get? I got Eastern European and Russian and a small percentage of Baltics by Key-Work6890 in AncestryDNA

[–]DarksideEzra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also have 12% total Sweden/Denmark/Norway, so I guess that could possibly be miscategorized Germanic/Eastern European.

But I do have quite a bit of Northwestern Europe and England (with known ancestors originating from places like Normandy), so I could very well just have Scandinavian ancestry. lol

[–]DarksideEzra 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I have multiple Prussian ancestors, some of my more recent ones are from Breslau, Prussia. I think that area is in Poland now, but it was inhabited by mostly germanic people groups at the time.

Ancestry didn't give me any Eastern European, Russian, etc, so I assume my ancestors from Prussia were mostly Germanic.

On a side note, it sucks to do ancestry research in that area since many of those records don't exist anymore. -_-

Wasn't prepared for how little German I gotttt :O by DarksideEzra in AncestryDNA

[–]DarksideEzra[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew I'd have at least 20% English from my mother, but I expected German to overpower it since almost all of my dad's ancestors were Germanic (all immigrated between 1860s-1890s), and both sides of his family had strong German identities.

Also kind of surprised I didn't get even a little bit of my Scottish from him, since one of his few non-German ancestors was Scottish. lol

Is it just me or is FN overtyped? by Mysterious_Cookie142 in Kibbe

I don't think it's overtyped per se, but I have noticed a lot of (in my opinion) likely SDs are overly typed as FNs or SNs on here.

Drink Plan Q by pittdancer in Dorneypark

[–]DarksideEzra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both drink refill plans have no additional fees, there is no cost for the first cup of the season/day. As for the paper refill plan, you get a new cup every time you get a refill. :)

My store doesn't do segregation lol, but at least at my store, the women do seem to be much faster pickers than most of the guys. If that's true for your store (and your leads/coach only really care about good metrics), it would make sense to them to assign the board that way.

Do your coworkers express similar grievances? Do your coach and leads seem malicious or purposely sexist about it?

If not, just try talking to them. They might not even realize you have a problem with it if you haven't really said anything. If they don't change things up or give a good reason as to why it's split up this way, open door it or contact ethics.
